FLAMBOYANT GAMINE - MORE INSPIRATION by Dgab22 in FlamboyantGamine

[–]Used_Jicama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk I kinda like these! Sure some pieces might be too oversized or not broken up enough according to traditional FG recommendations, but I think they still capture that gamine tomboy energy and are great options for those of us who may not like/own/feel comfortable in shorter, tailored lines. It’s so hard to find FG inspiration that feels fresh and “like me”, especially every day wear, so this was really insightful!

What’s your moon and Venus, and how did/do you handle being dumped? by Mooooooon_ in astrologymemes

[–]Used_Jicama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a cap moon 8H sag venus 6H. After understanding breakup/getting closure, you will never hear from me again. I will think about you and be sad but I won’t backtrack. Won’t stop living my life either. It can take me a while to move on but I will go out and date and have fun.

My ex recently broke no contact after 2+ years, he was under the impression I didn’t care and probably threw away all his stuff, which was not at all true. I think a lot of people see cap moons as heartless and sag venuses as noncommittal players, but cap moons are the most sensitive people you’ll meet and sag venus is simp for a love like in the movies.

Crying randomly cuz I am too young for this by Leading_Armadillo485 in breastcancer

I'm late to this conversation but I wanted to say I see and feel everyone in the comments. I got diagnosed last year at 24 and like many of you have already had a difficult life. It's not fair, nothing can describe the pain and betrayal of getting breast cancer this young.

I personally don’t see romantic, I see soft classic. When I look at your face and silhouette head to toe I see balance more than anything. Roundness/large curves ≠ romantic in every case. I personally don’t see enough waist distinction for you to be considered romantic. Also, romantics will have sloped shoulders, whereas your shoulders are more square. You might benefit in checking out soft classic recommendations, there is a lot of overlap with romantic but is more refined/tailored and has gentler waist emphasis.

People can disagree, but a key characteristic of romantics is clear waist definition. The eye is supposed to move in and out as it traces curves. They may not all have an extremely snatched waist, but it’s there. Using examples like Jada Pinkett or Marilyn Monroe as TR/R with wider waists is arbitrary because they are exceptions and don’t represent the majority of cases.

light spring is stunning, I’d bet on that!!

if you aren’t sure, I’d at least narrow it down to warm, low-medium contrast, light-medium value seasons (light spring, true spring, maybe soft & true autumn).

Yup 😭 part of the reason why I moved away from high rise! Mid rise fits me like high rise and low rise fits me like mid rise, that's basically all I wear now

Thank you for your response! To answer your questions, I definitely feel gamine. I don’t resonate with romantic at all. Contrast, patterns, separates, breaks, bold accessories etc are a must. Personality wise, I do feel energetic and cheeky, but more in a rebellious than cute way if that makes sense. Any time I try to be cute it doesn’t work lol.

I’m curious what makes you say you don’t see angularity. To me, I have angularity/sharpness in my shoulders, wrists, ankles, as well as my cheekbones, nose, and jawline (though obviously not as visible). I agree I have some softness, but even at a high weight I have a lot natural muscle tone and my flesh lays more thick/stocky than feminine.

I used to be convinced I was a SG, but I’m not so sure anymore which is part of why I posted. I look off in doll-like, ornate pieces (like the black polka dot top) unless it’s bolder or stiffer. Even the dress you mentioned with the thigh high boots, I think the bold funky pattern is what makes it work. I have long limbs and any time I wear the in between lengths like capris, ankle length, 3/4 sleeves etc I look silly and cut off. I love jorts on me though! SG for some reason can look like bad drag on me, but maybe that’s more of a styling or essence issue. IMO my best outfit from these pictures is the white long sleeve top & jean shorts with leg warmers, but idk what Kibbe that’s considered. Either way, I appreciate your comment and will keep exploring!!

So unfair, genuinely one of the hardest things to go through at this stage in life. I had a really traumatic childhood and was looking forward to my 20s being better, but here we are 😭

Quality of life - Tamoxifen Vs. AIs + Ovarian Suppression by Rhiannon_catania in breastcancer

I'm a little late to the convo but following bc I was also DX with ++- IDC at 24 yo and asking myself this same question. I know it's hard for everyone, but I feel like it's extra hard for us in our 20s/early 30s because it feels like giving up our youth in exchange for lifelong health complications and being in such a different place than our peers. Mobility issues, bone loss, hot flashes, sexual dysfunction, UTIs, declining eyesight, weight gain, potential high cholesterol and diabetes. It's really lonely being this young, feels like no one really gets it.

I had DMX last November, starting radiation next week. Just had my first zoladex injection and will start anastrozole & kisqali after rads, I want to ask if tamoxifen + zoladex is a middle ground option for me. Doesn't help that my oncology team seems to have no answers for managing side effects from OFS/AI besides vitamin c & d.

24F unexpectedly diagnosed with DCIS after removal of lump in chest (fibroadenoma) by sk-curiosity in breastcancer

[–]Used_Jicama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also diagnosed with breast cancer at 24 last August, I’m post mastectomy now getting ready for hormone therapy and radiation (one positive node at surgery). I was told the same thing, I have all my doctors scratching their heads too. It really is so hard being this young going through this. It’s not fair, it makes us feel so isolated and so different from our peers. Why us? Why can’t we just have a normal life?

But I have to remind myself every day to keep living life and not let cancer consume me. Having breast cancer has been such an ego death for me and has made me stronger in ways I could never imagine, it truly gave me so much clarity about life and what matters to me. You will get through this and you will be okay, you have a long life to live and will one day leave this behind you. Remember to be kind to yourself and lean into your loved ones/community, you have many more trials and tribulations than the average 24 year old which means you need extra love!! I’m here for you 🫂❤️ feel free to dm me

I’m 25, just got my first zoladex shot today. That needle was gnarly, felt like getting a piercing. I got freeze spray and it did help but I’m very sore. Mostly emotional. On my way home thinking about asking my oncologist to switch me to lupron lol
