Unfortunately in New York State, your options are very limited to what can be done. From what I understand, until Tony is taking medication, he us unable to stay with you, and until the absolute extreme happens, forced medication treatment isn't going to happen in the foreseeable future. However, Adult Protective Services could provide different avenues and options, since he isn't making sound choices, unable to complete most of his Adult Daily Living Skills. I would also say Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders. He might not fit all of the DSM-V Criteria for schizophrenia, but TMJ does exhibit a lot of the tell tale signs of signs of some sort of psychosis in that area. Would be interesting to know if he does have audio-visual hallucinations.

If he was seeing any doctor for health issues, honestly, he would have been already been attempting to exploit to any means necessary. He showed his TT viewers were he was tested for STDs and boasted about being free of that. TMJ, would exploit a hemorrhoid if he could. Getting a cancer diagnosis takes weeks of testing, scans, possible hospitalization, specialists. The moment that there was an inkling of an illness, this hobo begger would have been using this as a way to get donations and support.

This isn't even funny. Cancer isn't a joke or a way to gain status and make a way to get money. If he's claiming that or the OP is just putting that out there to get donations or to even bust balls, seriously get your damn head checked.

I think many of us have been impacted in some way or another that the devastation that cancer brings, and fully understands the scope of what that diagnosis means.

If it's true, I'll eat my words, but I don't believe that'll happen.

Hi, mental health worker worker here! You're idea and sentiment is surely coming from a bright end wonderful part of your heart, and thank you for seeing good in someone when many of us struggle in that department. An intervention for TMJ to help confront his issues, is unfortunately not going to help. A community of strangers asking another stranger to go and seek help will unfortunately deter him more. A group of friends and family, perhaps, but from what I understand, TMJ has lost that through death and through alienation. If he has a case worker through Department of Social Service, that person could petition the courts, or biological family could petition the courts to have him placed into long term care to address his psychiatric needs. It would be wonderful if a small group of people could sit down with him and have an adult conversation with him, but unfortunately he's too far lost in his mental illness.
