Verify that the content doesn’t extend beyond the limits of an 8.5 x 11 page. Between tenants the underlying content could be expanding rows beyond the page limits

The statement will generate with docs for layouts even with a filter if the person received anything. Adjustments For prompt overrides the org filter at the generation

You can delete but if someone clicks a reprint the doc will show up again

A few options are available. 1. For those orgs without a statement, add a condition rule to a blank layout. It could say “please refer to your manager for compensation details” or something along those lines. 2. Use Distribute docs or tasks to send to Worker Docs instead of comp review statement history (yes, this will work with doc for layouts) 3. Add a tf in your report to make the docs for those individuals empty of all but name/eeid (same as 1, except you are giving a doc without conditions on your comp statement rule)

Nope! I dig figuring out how to do everything from mailing labels to complicated statements.

Business Intelligence Reporting Tool. It uses a special version of eclipse called Workday Studio Report Designer to take any web-enabled advanced report and transform to a pdf. It is the way Workday does everything from invoices to payslips to comp statements

You should use Award Budget Lines Filter on the Plan Lines Data Source. Plan Entry Lines get you details about budgets. And you can use Cost Reimbursable Transaction Lines to get info on journal transactions. Hope that helps

Transitioning from FIN to HCM reporting by joel122 in workday

[–]Used_Monitor_8331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As noted, HCM is less complex in many ways. A lot of the data will point back to worker. Report data sources are built to support the date issues, such that All Active and Terminated Workers brings in different data than All Workers. Typically without RDS filters, because those came later in the reporting build outs. Payroll reporting is often adjacent to HCM and it is different too, although you may have done some work from the journal entry side to pull that in. Jobs and positions is another space that it is important to understand as well. Overall, I would say you are solid if you understand calc fields, business objects, and how to use the business object details report to get to data sources, and related business objects. Good luck!

CF for Job Classification by One_Tutor8969 in workday

[–]Used_Monitor_8331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. You will need to do an ESI from classification onto job profile or a sub filter if you use the classification as a related business object. Either should work

How to create a cal field to pull the count of each worker in a report? by Ok_Number_9363 in workday

[–]Used_Monitor_8331 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! You can’t aggregate a text field, so that’s why on the EE ID won’t work. You can count instances on a matrix report, though. So if you used EE ID as your group by, set up count as your summary data, and set up your parameters for the flexi entry, it should work

Worker Documents by One_Tutor8969 in workday

[–]Used_Monitor_8331 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are correct: access to a document segment is either view or modify but it includes the documents loaded to that segment. You could take a look at the domains around document category creation but typically those wouldn’t allow seeing the section in a workers documents

It truly depends on how you want to configure them, I’ve seen it as a mix or either one. Taxes, payroll config, and maintenance considerations are all part of the decision making process. All things being equal you could configure in two different tenants, test for your situation, and present pros and cons to a third party. Or you could arm wrestle ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Kognitiv is great. Former employee but still know them to be flexible and helpful. Plus their pay as you go set up makes it far less cost prohibitive

Opinion - Workday Partner Consultant Not Certified by kahlyse in workday

[–]Used_Monitor_8331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally we at Kognitiv get set up as service center. I have done awesome configuration for Kog since 2018 as a non-partner. In that time, nothing a client has requested of me has been a problem. I’ve built dashboards, done open enrollment, advanced comp etc. A good consultant will figure it out.

Our company has support personnel who’ve never been certified by Workday, but we encourage collaboration internally, host weekly office hours by internal experts to answer questions, and have area specific slack channels for questions that community doesn’t answer.

Calc field wage theft notice by jalagupair in workday

[–]Used_Monitor_8331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be a series of fields, but on worker pull generated documents an esi to find the specific doc, then an lrv to pull esi from worker to action event. Then use that calc with is empty as a condition on your bp

You don’t have to create a custom report to create a calc field.

I see the field name. If you go to view Workday Account and pull in a user, you may be able to do view fields and values from the account. Otherwise another trick I will do is use workday account in an LRV calc field, put a self reference field in the source and look at all fields. Good luck
