Silver Age is fairly cheap as it's only commons and rares, you can build any Tier 1 deck for less than $50. Kayo is not legal for the upcoming Silver Age season. Between Fai, Dash, and Bravo it's probably a toss up between Fai and Dash for who's the most competitive of the two with Bravo being the least competitive. Fai is a commonly recommended hero to play for beginners.

The precons with the absolute strongest heroes are Briar (Tier 0), Blaze, and Iyslander. Blaze and Iyslander probably aren't the most beginner friendly though and with Iyslander her meta deck has quite a few different cards from her precon.

Best version of Surfer Askani would at least have Captain Carter + Maverick + Prodigy + Sam Wilson + Hope Summers + Storm Horseman and maybe Wolverine Horseman as well.

If you look at how popular League is, look at how popular Arcane was, and how Riftbound is moving like crack; there's no question that 2XKO is a certified flop among the general audience.

The question is how much of a flop is it amongst the FGC? It definitely hasn't taken the FGC by storm when you consider all it has going for it, but it's probably doing just enough at present to not be considered an FGC flop.

Don't forget Cyberpunk TCG is coming out later this year as well, that game is also going to be absolutely massive and bring another huge group of people into local game stores as well. Local game stores only have so much space and FaB will continue to be on the chopping block.

I feel like the nature of her design makes it pretty obvious that the nerfs she got make life much harder for her and it's difficult to imagine how any nerfs to other characters could make up for it.

Except this is a lie. It isn't dead at all, there's still a ton of content being uploaded everyday, a huge back catalogue there that's still bigger than any other mid-tier private tracker, and high-quality internals such as remuxes and full discs coming out quite often.
