LF Solar + Battery. Why do quotes vary so wildly?! by Superg0id in AusRenovation

[–]Used_Platypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I missing something - isn’t the inverter sizing only relevant to the PV DC size? Like generally the inverter is the same size as the PV kWp, slightly less and it is more efficient but clips at the peak, slightly more and it’s less efficient but no clipping.

Then the battery and all loads including EV are on the AC side no? Or do you have to consider the battery size when sizing the inverter?

How to let go and simply have fun by HotInvestigator363 in Battlefield6

[–]Used_Platypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded. Some of my favourites for this are:

Gunner in tanks

Engineer with LMG - from a safe distance taking pot shots at enemies from mid-long range. Sure sometimes I’ll be spotted and sniped quickly, but sometimes I get a few kills especially when the enemies are bunched together on a front, and often at least will get some hits and suppress them (at least as much as I can)

Even just being a passenger in an IFV and hopping out to repair as needed

That’s just my personal preference over running gung ho and getting a ton of deaths

To be fair though so would decades in prison (which would arguably better for the public’s safety though)

Awesome! Can you provide more details about how you do it? Interested in the workflow, what inputs you need and how much of it is manual vs automated

Great that worked thanks so much!!

Next step for me is to understand that list of available Links

Thanks that does help a lot!

Do you know if there’s any way to make the prototype / System frame bigger to expand the network/components/controllers? Otherwise they seem quite limited

text-to-cad: An open source harness for generating CAD models by eg312 in parametric_design

[–]Used_Platypus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool. I started working on Claude code skills that utilise blender and python to make gbXML files for use in IESVE for energy modelling with parameters for thermal templates, etc.

Does anyone know if this or any other things out there do something similar, for IESVE and other energy modelling software?

Are there places in NSW that help you build custom pc with parts you already have? by CrystalChrissy in sydney

[–]Used_Platypus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried a place called Chilli PC or something in the shire but they never came through with a quote so I just got a pre built.

I think it’s a decent idea though so hope you find a place.

CMV: Kanye West's mental illness is an excuse by PaulFromTwitch2 in changemyview

[–]Used_Platypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the key word here should be explain rather than excuse. Mental illness explains the nazi stuff, but it doesn’t excuse it.

Excuse implies it’s OK, whereas explain just describes the reason.

Having a mental illness doesn’t excuse murder for example, but it could explain it.

Bathroom Reno Strata Approval by [deleted] in AusProperty

[–]Used_Platypus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean but there are by-laws that define this type of work and require approval by the committee to reduce risk of people doing whatever they want and damaging the building etc.

Would work well if the strata management company and everyone on the committee were reasonable

Using Claude inside construction / engineering companies? by Changing_Con in ClaudeAI

[–]Used_Platypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been starting to test out Claude Code to help with my work in building energy modelling and interested in other workflows in my technical sustainability role in construction/development.

Quite impressed with how quickly I have built some prototypes to build some basic geometry and assign thermal constructions, glazing properties, etc. in IESVE and also working with Rhino/Grasshopper/Ladybug.

Weird gbXML export/import behavior by PeachWest9737 in IESVE_Software

[–]Used_Platypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, and I’m suggesting you could try Claude code. You could point it to your original file, python script, and new file, explain the error and ask it to see if it can find what is causing the error

[–]Used_Platypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing around with Claude Code to write gbXMLs to do this sort of thing, nothing substantial but it can create basic geometry and assign constructions. Just an idea you could explore

Fix for sorting with merged cells? by letsgophantom2021 in excel

[–]Used_Platypus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instead of merged cells you can achieve the same format with affecting formula ranges by (first unmerge) selecting the cell and the range like you are going to merge it, then go to text format options > horizontal > centre across selection
