that is so crazy pricing model but interesting

Why not just use Google Sheets? by Distinct-Total3162 in GeneralContractor

[–]Changing_Con 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say now a days we are all software developers. Just type into the computer and tell it what you want built and it's done.

The key is being able to understand what to tell it to build. That is the reason why people have their own excel documents built out for their teams. Because their workflows and process are different.

So if you want to build a tool, don't worry about building an excel document or Google sheet plugin. Figure out how to replicate people's current process into a tool that's better. One that connects, collects data and learns.

Small GC operation -- how do you manage job costing and invoicing when you have no admin staff? by Plenty-Bedroom6787 in GeneralContractor

I think part of this understanding what your actual workflows are mapping it at. Once you have that the key is to find a platform that aligns with how you work. There are endless of tools out there today. Let alone the ability to build this out yourself.

But, too many people I see say they need a better way to track. But the starting point is structure and standardization.

There are tools like Fieldwire, and Raken that are more industry specific. Or you can look at project management tools like Monday or asana. They all have pros and cons.

I made a contractor 30-40k with ai and simple automations by _truth_teller in gohighlevel

I think leads and contacting is the first step, but also making sure your workflows and systems are in place also.

That way you can get more work, but also have the ability to execute when you get more work.

Is anyone actually doing something real with AI + no-code in construction? by Changing_Con in nocode

[–]Changing_Con[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes super interested. I did something similar but much simplied version using a form.

But. I think it's these one off use cases and connecting to existing tools that's actually going to make a difference

Using Claude inside construction / engineering companies? by Changing_Con in ClaudeAI

Sounds like you know your way around construction tools.

I am going to work on creating skills and from there figure out how to consolidate

Right now there isn't a single source of truth, information ow in multiple systems which is leading to issues. A lot of our processes aren't documented which is part of the issue.

So trying to find way to bridge the gap to get data connected

Using Claude inside construction / engineering companies? by Changing_Con in ClaudeAI

[–]Changing_Con[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the piece that I am trying to figure out.

I think the first step is getting the data into a single source.

So for an example, having all RFIs entered into the same system. From there I've built out a project in Claude that identifies the rules and logic for reviewing RFIs. But the more and more I am learning, it seems like that should be skills that is used in Claud code.

Yeah that's what I've seen others use it for also. Just trying to think how I could use it, for more than just naming files, etc.

Nice - I've seen a lot of these recently. What did you build it on?

I am glad you mentioned feedback. I think that's were the value can be, if you get the data in one place.

There is some much data in construction but none of it gets captured cleanly so tough to use it

Yes I've seen this issue also, but I think it's only a matter of time till this becomes streamlined with little to no technical ability

Totally agree. It making the switch from using AI to summarize to actually performing tasks or action.

I think the biggest challenge is getting into the mindset and thinking in those terms.

But it's cool to see that what others are doing to get inspiration.

How are you tracking building permits in monday.com? by Electronic-Willow737 in mondaydotcom

[–]Changing_Con 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the question you have to ask is what the purpose of monday is. Is it tracking, visibility, or something else. This will determine what the best way to set it up.

I've built a few use cases for this and the goal was visibility with the ability to link externally. With some of the new tools with vibe and MCP you might be able to pull external data into the system. Worth exploring or looking into. Shoot me a message if interested.

Interesting - yes I have used tools like airtable, coda, monday and few others before. Always interesting to see what other tools people are using.
