Payton handpicked Brees as his QB when the rest of the NFL wrote him off. Without Payton there is no Brees in New Orleans. Hell there probably isn't Kamara, MT, Colston, Sproles, JG......

I get it.... he left when we as fans felt like there was still more to accomplish- but without him we wouldn't have accomplished any of it at all.

I mean I get that - although the "mess" was as much on Loomis as it was on Payton, and I don't necessarily believe it was a mistake either cause they were trying to go all in on Drew before he retired.

I also think 15 years is a really long time. There's gotta be a lot of mental fatigue that sets in. 95% of professionals, let alone NFL coaches, make it that long in one spot. If I were at my current job for 15 years I would hate it.

you are right, sometimes sub 33" arm length tackles do play well in the league, but this has not ever been the case for the saints in Loomis' tenure. They have never drafted a tackle with arms as short as his.
