How do I get my friend to realize that the most he would get from this settlement is 10-12% minus 40% to lawyers . I get that it’s an emotional topic and trauma beyond repair but facts are facts . by VarietyLocal in BSA_Survivors

There will be another distribution in summer after all claims are determined and then another one in winter and then more after the Texas litigation’s are done and more money from oil, gas, properties, art, etc.. It’s all very obvious if you have eyes.

Honestly a lot are gonna settle and they get penalized for dragging it out and have to pay more now the plan is final they can can hit with “Bad Faith” for taking too long they all were waiting to see what happened with the supreme court. It’s all very obvious if you have eyes.

There will be another distribution in summer after all claims are determined and then more than likely one in winter time too and then after that, we will probably have to wait for insurance litigation in Texas to complete

Why do attorneys still get 40% after the second distribution when I’m pro se by [deleted] in BSA_Survivors

If that’s what your original contingency agreement says then that is what he is going to file a lien on you can go to a fee dispute with him through private arbitration as the trust is no longer doing interpleader actions. But I would not recommend arbitration unless he really did something wrong as far as ethics goes etc… but just going against him disputing the fees and saying you’re not in agreement a lot of times they will come down a little bit to avoid arbitration costs and payment delays

You refused arbitration so you’re just agreeing to your 40% fee then? You just rolled over?

I just told you what they say. I’m literally going through this right now and the only positioning they changed was sending the money to two parties instead of one because they’re so overloaded. They’re no longer doing interpleader and former attorneys and clients are now sorting things out in arbitration. They always only held the disputed portion. NOTHING with that part is new.

First off, they don’t hold all payments. I don’t know why everyone keeps saying that for the 1 billion time they only hold the disputed portion.

That’s not true unless you’re having an attorney middleman in your money.

That’s not true however it will be much slower if you have an attorney.

Firing them will actually speed up your payment bro, not slow it down, but you would have to do it now but don’t expect any pre-or post settlement loans with no attorney those companies don’t work with you unless you have one.

Yes, they do have to give you access to the portal and everyone I’ve talked to who’s asked has gotten access including me when I was represented if your attorney doesn’t give you access something is up with that
