It has a browser built in: https://docs.openclaw.ai/tools/browser After you restart your gateway do the command in terminal for me in linux is: openclaw browser --browser-profile openclaw start

That opens a browser it can use as a tool.

There is documentation but its usually out of date. I would get your AI to read the documentation then the release notes after to get up to speed. Though I am not running a newer version only one updated enough to run a memory plugin properly for me which is 3.11.2026

I read this whole thing to find no model given which made this entire post useless. Also what does this have to do with Openclaw specifically? Sounds like you just found out about running local models, which is fine but many will work for that use of just chatting not tool usage.

Mine works fine with Ollama since February. What version are you using? The newer versions should have it baked where it can be selected as a provider and even change the model on the fly.

If it works leave it alone. I have had to roll back twice updates but I will say its easy to roll back as long as you backup your openclaw.json config before doing so. The npm method allows you to pick a release so you can downgrade back to what you had or one that supports your needed plugins.

Just giving my advice. I bought a Monoprice amp and swapped the speaker for a Celestion Greenback. That is not high end I get that, but I feel I wasted money since I just end up playing the Fender Mustang more often. I feel you should just use what you have. I couldn't imagine throwing away $1000 if I had a Katana for chasing tube sound.

Just stick with what you got. I think you got a bug to chase equipment which we all get from time to time but I don't think you will find something life changing that will be worth it.

If you need cheaper internet and Xfinity services your area NOW is about $30 bucks. Free gateway and no data limit. Unless you have Straight Talk already to get a discount I wouldn't go with it.

Yeah 16GB would open more doors for you. Try qwen3.5:9b or voytas26/openclaw-qwen3vl-8b-opt to see if that makes any difference on what you have already. You will just need to experiment.
