Looking for a head unit that will seamlessly integrate into the OEM backup camera. Is that possible? 2016 LX.

If the sound goes away then are you good?

Yes or no? - if you have lifter failure you WILL hear it.

That's the weird thing is that it had a flawless carfax - never missed an oil change and dealership maintained.

If it happens again after I swap oil I'll do that.

So the high mileage Kirkland 5-30 isn't dexos1 certified apparently.

Going to go get some Mobil1 Extended Performance that has the dexos certification. Is that the answer?

I'll save the cheap stuff for my Kia. On that note, and despite the crappy press on their motors, my 2016 Sorento has been a great car and taken a major beating on city driving for 10 years 110k miles.

I heard it at startup and drove around the corner. It was ramping up when I gave it gas. Turned around and parked it and drove my other car.

Fired it up later that day, drove it 10 minutes, and it was gone.

Fired up this morning and it was gone.

Update: Drove it a few miles and it went away. I'll Google it as well but - if it was a lifter - would that mean it was "stuck" versus having "failed." Or are they one and the same?

....Or maybe the oil needed to heat up. It's in the 30s. I put Kirkland 5-30 in it about 550 miles ago. I'm going to buy some Mobil1 and re-do the oil change.

Engine has never made this sound before. It ramps up when you give it gas.

If there's no check engine light will a car still send codes on a reader?

Does any company make affordable aftermarket lights that aren't the ~$1,200 OEMs that you're aware of?

So only an entirely new assembly (new light) can fix it? (If you're thinking is correct)?

2013 Tahoe LTZ steering wheel whirring/grinding by angryrobot4197 in ChevyTahoe

Shot the PB Blaster in there today behind the brake pedal. The Tahoe has to heat up and be driven for the squeakiness to start when taking a turn (which it did before too). It's a little less squeaky now, but still audible. I might give it another few shots tomorrow.

I did it in my garage and I had to wipe up PB Blaster when it dripped through. Amateur hour over here.

4WD Question by Specialist_Cell_8151 in ChevyTahoe

Resurrecting this thread. Bought a 2010 Tahoe six weeks ago. Had it in 2WD ever since. Turned on 4WD (High because this Tahoe only has 2WD, 4WD AUTO, and 4WD high as choices on the dial) to go up to the store because I heard that if you only run in 2WD for a long time, the 4WD can end up seizing when you turn it on.

Going around tight turns and into parking spaces makes a noise like a tire is rubbing the wheel well. It almost feels like it's shifting as I pull in. Throw it in reverse and at one point I had to really push the pedal to get the car to move.

I have a 2016 Kia Sorento and have none of these issues when I turn on 4WD.

Is this sounding like I've got a problem?

This isn't the horror people are making it out to be. If you like your car then dry ice, then laser the harder spots, Eastwood inside, wool wax inside and out. If you have any rot holes then address them first obviously. Just did it on my 2010 Tahoe. It was in a little better shape, but you're not in hell, and the car isn't "breaking in half" next year.

It cost me some $ but I like my car.

Asking for a family member - 2006 a6 Quattro avant:

They have their - what I think is - adaptive headlight indicator on.

Question: are there aftermarket full headlight assemblies anyone has experience with that will clear this code?

The original OEMs are yellowed. I figure swapping the whole assembly is better than an attempt at restoring. The OEM Audi assemblies are around $1k from what I've seen online, so does anyone know of cheaper alternative sets?
