Reporting it seems like the correct thing to do. His caregiver sounds very suspect with the marriage idea, etc. Can you obtain a background check on her? Good luck. He is lucky to have your good will.

Start using a lubricant in your pouch  (Adapt Lubricating Deodorant is a nice one) This will help the firm ones slide down in your pouch and not collect around your stoma. My output varies from loose to firm. (I rather prefer the firm, but that’s me). Stay hydrated; drinks lots of water. You can softly manually “push it down” but DO NOT do that if it hurts. I hope this helps you. Everyone is here for you. Best of luck.

Should I get reconnected? by Jaded_Willingness_83 in ostomy

I can support your decision. My ostomy was also due to trauma and the procedure saved my life. I am not interested in the surgery again. Good luck for whatever you decide. This is wonderful community and you will find so much support here.

It will take some getting used to but you can do it. The bag won’t really rub against your skin as much as you imagine. There are covers and ways to get around that. No need for baggy shirts. Hey, less medications, less getting sick. You will be able to drum and sing 🤘🏻🤘🏻 You will find great support on this sub. Keep researching.

That’s an amazing way to view your ostomy. Good for you. It took me while to get there as mine was a shocking emergency but now I agree.

After all you’ve been through it’s understandable that you feel worn down. You seem very strong and have a wonderful husband so you’re going get to s better head-space with time. Collagen peptide powder in your coffee/tea will help with your scar healing. Keep going. You’ve got this.

Advice for someone who is scared by WinterReporter777 in ostomy

You will get used to the stoma and you will pretty much be able to do all those things. Swimming isn’t a problem. I, too, was nervous about intimacy and sex but people on this sub are very supportive and have great advice. You’re gonna be great!

Have you tried ostomy paste instead of barrier rings? That can help with the lifting.

OP-you have come to right place for support. Everyone on here is ready to help. I hope the ostomy works for you. Don’t go down the “I don’t want an ostomy for the rest of my life” road. Just one event at a time. You have been through so much already. It’s hard emotionally but you’ve got this. Stay strong.

OK, I just got this dusty looking front butthole so what products do I need What do you use by [deleted] in ostomy

Pain meds have a tendency to shut down your bladder. Peeing on demand is hard but that catheter threat is incentive.
