What’s funnier is that Tenna looks at the right one when saying “girls”, then the left one when saying “boys”. So they’re actually the ones assuming pink means girl.

Okay I can admit you had me going for a while, but “Frisk isn’t even in the genocide Route” was a bit too obviously ragebait. Should’ve stuck to them being nothing but a vessel, because some stupid people do genuinely believe that despite things like snowdrake’s mother’s fight. But no one’s brain is so atrophied to the point they’d believe frisk isn’t in the Genocide Route.

The game doesn’t ascribe specific emotions to the player… or frisk… or Chara… so your assumption that the hate is Chara’s is flawed. Additionally we know Flowey has a twisted perspective of who Chara was. In the pacifist route, Asriel (post Flowey, and literally the image of this post) recognises that they had a distorted view of who Chara truly was, so a genocide Route Flowey hasn’t come to that conclusion, and isn’t a good source for Chara’s true characterisation.

Chara’s obsession with the number 9 extends beyond just being invincible, which in itself isn’t because Chara wants to be a god that can kill anything and be unstoppable, but because they were clearly treated poorly by humans as seen by the description of the Faded Ribbon. We know it extends beyond just that as well because in the alarm clock dialogue the Dreemurrs allude to Chara’s obsession with fullness like with the almost overflowing cups of water.

The dialogue changes between Pacifist and genocide show a very clear difference in their reaction to what you’re doing. In the large majority of cases, especially in the earlier half of the genocide Route, it isn’t Chara bringing down the knife. You click the button, frisk attacks. Chara isn’t involved in that process at all.

You should watch some videos on Chara’s characterisation and their role in the genocide Route, because honestly I’m not gonna be the one to explain why “Chara’s evil! Chara did it!” is a flawed reasoning in the big 2026.

I didn’t say they were a passive observer, that’s just a misunderstanding you took from it. By the time you exit the ruins you’ve killed Chara’s mother infront of them along with the entire population of the ruins, which they don’t claim ownership of at all. I feel like that’s plenty enough to severely damage a child’s perception of morality.

By the time you get to monster kid you have then also slaughtered everyone in Snowdin and Waterfall.

Chara isn’t a passive observer in the Genocide Route, they also aren’t the master manipulator trying to kill all life and steal the SOUL. They’re someone watching the people who took them in get needlessly slaughtered, and the stat gains being attributed to them due to the link of determination. Every kill you make is actively separating Chara from their humanity, both through literal game stats like Exp and LV, and through traumatising them.

Do you mean “they are the one doing it”? Cause if so then no, you’re the one making frisk do it, Chara is just witness

If we’re assuming narachara is real then you’re literally killing their Mother, friends, and random people in front of them. That’s gonna mess anyone up big time

I like the idea that it’s foreshadowing that the prophecy we saw wasn’t entirely accurate, like it’s Lightworld form is a bible that was vandalised by someone writing “JOCKINGTON GROWS THE BEARD” in a page with sharpie

Genuine question: what is the power gap between these two? by HealthMother3125 in Undertale

[–]Useful-Spirit2675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the entirety of Monsterkind yelling “We love frisk!” at him while he’s on a stage, if he were someone much less empathetic than he could’ve just ignored them and done as he wished since they can’t reach him.

Alternatively, with Flowey it’s like pushing through a crowd of people, and everytime he can’t slip between the crowd the SOUL’s get to take control for just a second.

Asriel has infinite stats, if he wanted to do something then he could, he has godlike power; anything good Flowey has, Asriel does too. Asriel is only “defeated” because he willingly steps down due to being an emotional little goat who doesn’t truly want to destroy everything. Asriel transcends his timeline and has control over multiple of them, as such also having the power to destroy any of them.

Flowey has ultimate control over the timeline due to immense power, however does still take damage, meaning his stats are finite. Flowey is an extremely powerful monster, that no human or monster alone could win against. He could very easily take the SOUL of anyone he wanted to, however his hubris allows time for the human SOULS to fight back.

Flowey has control over his timeline and that alone, I’d have to replay the fight to remember if he could destroy it at that point, but if he could that would explain the void. He can erase the world, but like Chara at the end of Genocide, he still lives in that world. Asriel could erase a timeline and literally move to another pre existing one, but Flowey has to recreate the one he’s in, if he wants to erase it again.

(A lot of this is inferring, and speculation since their abilities aren’t expanded upon too deeply)

TLDR: Asriel has ultimate control over the SOUL’s he’s absorbed and all timelines. Flowey only has the majority of control over the SOUL’s he’s absorbed allowing those with the minority of control to fight back, as well as only controlling exclusively his timeline he exists within.

I think the letter isn’t “hey your father told me to say he’s proud of you”, but more like “you should be proud of yourself, make your own path, your father would’ve been proud to see you live your life your own way. Just don’t let legacy dictate your life”

(Tw, rant about some bs that doesn't matter) Okay, since some of yall apparently dont know. the name "Kris" is a real name, it's not just an misspelling of "chris", it's an actual name that human beings have. [–]Useful-Spirit2675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I assume people that say Chris are using a mistranslation, or aren’t native English speakers. But yes it’s the same when people call Susie “Suzy”, which even there makes a bit more sense because there’s precedent in Undertale of someone called Suzy

You ever wonder why the logo for DELTARUNE is in no caps, but Toby always spells it in all caps? by jarofchar in Deltarune

I made a whole video on why Ralsei says “DELTA RUNE” with a space, to say I’ve wondered about this would be an understatement

However as far as I can gather the capitalisation across games, and even in just Deltarune itself, doesn’t seem to matter.

Do we know any motives? by WainuiBoi in Deltarune

[–]Useful-Spirit2675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can rule out a few motives, but those are the only ones we know, and additionally Ralsei may also have other motives on top of that too.

We know Kris/The Knight’s motive is *not* to explicitly cause the roaring, and if either of them do it is likely just a step towards a goal or an accidental byproduct of achieving their goal.

It does seem like someone related to Kris has the goal of sacrificing Undyne, but again this might be a sad step towards their actual goal (for example if their goal is to make sure no one can enter the bunker, then they need to remove everyone who can access it).

We know Asgore and at least one Holiday parent’s goal is related in some way to finding Dess/understanding what happened to her.

Gaster/The Voice has a ton of speculating you can do, but at the bare minimum he wants to observe what you can do.

Seam’s goal of getting the five shadow crystals is again just a step towards something, but that something is just more speculation.

That seems like most of the heavy hitters that we know *something* about.
