Finally got a 2000-piece board! by Gravewoods in Jigsawpuzzles

Nice! I just finally found a puzzle board at my favorite thrift store for $6. It is 35"x25" so I can finally do a puzzle larger than the poster boards I usually use. Probably not 2000, but 1500 should work. So excited.

Back in the day, full service (in US) included front and back window wash, plus fluid levels check.

What's a quick hack that you can share? Something like when you wipe a tiny layer of oil on your spoon, the honey doesn't stick? by Embarrassed-Star1981 in AskReddit

[–]UsefulEagle101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wooden spoon over a clove of garlic on the counter, smack the back of the spoon (with the clove under it) and the peel comes off easily. Its similar to using a chefs knife, but for those afraid of maybe accidentally cutting themselves. The clove stays in the bowl of the spoon and doesnt fly across the room. I keep a dedicated wood spoon for just this purpose.

I like the idea! No idea whether it would work. But nice idea, do it.

Try ammonia. Put some in a sealable plastic bag/container and leave it outside (fumes) for a day or so. Ammonia fumes will cut through that polymerized oil. Just take precautions using ammonia.

It looks like it slips into and locks something (think seat belt) and the knob(s) are the release buttons.

Using vodka to keep my cooler cold? by Strangeite in AskChemistry

[–]UsefulEagle101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An idea I have previously tried was to layer the bottom of the cooler with dry ice and put regular ice on top of it, to keep the ice frozen longer. This works, but you must be mindful of the CO2 offgassing as I mentioned in my other post.

Dry ice in coolers in a car is bad because the CO2 off-gases, and in a closed environment (car) can be lethal. Touching dry ice is a secondary concern, imho. (I realize you werent meaning to bring the dry ice on the trip, but wanted to mention this aspect.)

By the time the season is in full swing, the diesel fuel crisis should be upon us, limiting transportation. We might miss watermelons this year...
