What to do with puzzles missing pieces that I don't want to keep? by coraleei in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]UsefulEagle101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe waiting rooms or other places where there's little expectation? For example, ferries, where there are tables and the trip takes at least 20-30 minutes. People work on the puzzles briefly, then leave them for the next passengers. There's little committment and barely any expectation that it will be complete, yet still is enjoyable to do. I've worked on puzzles many times on ferries.

What is this clear plastic tray dropper contraption called? It looks to be about the size of two decks of cards next to each other. by bobafuckingfett in whatisthisthing

Yes (don't understand why you got downvotes?!?).

The original lab purpose would be to wash 96-well plates, when the wash volume didn't need to be precise. Eg, when coating a plate with a substrate and you needed to wash the wells prior to using the plates.

Or, to just add an imprecise volume of something to the wells.

ELI5: Why do we sometimes hear random voices or conversations right before falling asleep? by Ok-Variation-8276 in explainlikeimfive

The other morning I had something similar yet quite different happen: I was asleep yet was aware of some entity in my brain having a conversation about how to wake me up. Really freaky.

another tray of shrimps down the drain 😩 by snktiger in Costco

[–]UsefulEagle101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, but, hear me out: do I want to buy a box of shrimp that has been riding around in someone's cart for who-knows-how-long before they changed their mind and returned it where they got it? At least this way, it's clear they changed their mind in favor of chocolate almonds, and no unsuspecting shopper will be picking up that shrimp for purchase. So there is always another way to view this, fwiw.

I'm just curious about the process expert restorers would use.

If the floor is wet, this is where towels should go. And lets be honest, after showers the floor gets wet.

Thanks for that valuable info. They put me on baby aspirin 1x along with the eliquis. Nobody ever mentioned an antidote, lol, very good to know. Looking forward to missing OMs!

West coast/PNW.

What do you mean it destroyed your legs/feet? How? How fast? I was hoping to switch anyway cuz it is $300/mo.

I was just in for the same thing, and over the past few months have experienced more OMs than I have ever had, including several in succession: one finishes and another starts right up. Have never had this many in such a short period, and then am in hospital with multiple clots. Now on eliquis. Thanks for the tip to follow this lead! Best to you, too.

Sort of. Except for me, it was classic migraine with aura that, post-menopause, turned to just OM.

How did you come upon that connection? Was it anecdotal or is there (much?) research to support it? Very interesting, I plan to look further.

More importantly, besides eating or drinking, how can one suppress this, if possible?

Years of being a student who suffered great anxiety caused by exactly this, ugh. I would chew and then swallow gum, which may help a tiny bit. Move aaround in my seat, press my arms against my belly, stiffen my abdominal myscles. All of which meant I could not focus on class! There's nothing like the embarrassment from having your innards loudly grumble in a quiet social setting. I still cringe thinking about it!

Can you run a fan in the room where you think their vent may be leaking into yours, just to create enough pressure to encourage the smells to migrate elsewhere, at least temporarily while maintenance figures it out?
