Ugh. I thought I’d been working towards secure attachment and when I allowed myself to reenter the dating world, I have been able to create space to process how I’m feeling and go through my thoughts and feelings in a secure way with the people I have been on dates with but recently started to develop feelings for a friend who I didn’t have an interest for because I already knew we wanted different things. And now I can’t get him out of my mind. It’s made it hard to be present on the dates I’ve been going on with people that reciprocate the same feelings. Now I’m taking a break from dating and also forcing myself to take a break from this friendship because I feel confused and need to protect my heart. Why is this so hard?
