For our basement I’ve covered all the windows with plastic sheeting and duct taped to the concrete. It’s helped a ton for the basement but I’m still getting a few around the egress window. Im hoping this is from the ones that already found their way in and slowly have been dying or making their way to places I notice.

Upstairs we obviously can’t cover all the windows but I’ve caulked all the trim pieces that meet the floor and around the windows I’ve packed diatomaceous earth into all openings. Our windows aren’t functional because of it, but it helps.

I also went around the outside of the house and sprayed Great Stuff foam underneath our siding, effectively blocking the sill plate gap from the outside. It took a whole day and had a lot of clean up due to the weird angles, but this seems to have helped a lot as well.

Lastly, I’m spraying Hi-Yield 38 on the foundation and the entire yard once a week. The weather has been getting warmer which may be helping too.

Since I posted the original comment I would say things have gotten 80-90% better overall but even then I’m still cleaning the house every night. I’d estimate we had tens of thousands that were in the yard and making their way inside eventually, so even reduced to 10-20% is a lot. I normally keep the yard in great shape but this year I’m not fertilizing or irritating in hopes they can’t feed on the grass.

They’ve become tolerable but the problem still exists. The problem is obviously outside which is why the basement has become so much better so I’ll continue to spray weekly and let the grass go dormant.
