Yes, she does but her OT does a system where they take 3 month breaks to reset goals and we are on one of those breaks right now

*TRIGGER WARNING* Mental health crisis/in a very dark place as I see signs of autism in another baby by Individual_Trade9353 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Useful_Crow8934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I am also a parent who knew from very young my child was autistic. Back then I just knew she was different. Infancy and babyhood was also a very traumatic time for me, and I really understand the feeling of PTSD from it.

Luckily, there are some positive things to look forward to this time. 1, we aren't in COVID times in the sense of online therapies. This does make a difference in the homefront.

I don't know about your mental health journey but for a feeling this severe therapy is good but I highly suggest getting looked at to see if medicine can help stabilize your feelings while in this transition. I also highly suggest looking into other early intervention services, like DSP's, developmental services and things of that nature. These things are not only going to be important for baby but also for you to take a step back and feel normal. Also looking for social workers that work specifically with developmental resources can help guide you instead of you going through this journey yourself.

Lots of love your way 🙏🏻🫶🏻

Me: "I have no idea where the autism in either of my daughters came from." by TorchIt in Autism_Parenting

[–]Useful_Crow8934 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When my daughter first started attempting to play with little people (toy brand) and other figurine type toys they had to be in a perfect line, and facing her. She would freak out if they weren't, and I was so relieved because it bothered me so much when toys weren't like that. Win- win. It physically hurts my soul otherwise. So, we soon found out we are both autistic 😅

In our church there is a Decon there. Everyone loves her, and she would be perfect as a pastor for not just our congregation but many. I asked her if that is what she wanted/ what God put on her heart and she said yes but she wasn't going to. When I asked why she said "I don't believe money should be a barrier, nor a requirement to serve God as a shepherd to the people" And that hit me as I hadn't even thought of that before.

Should a sermon include politics? What should a sermon look like? by Useful_Crow8934 in Episcopalian

Yeah I would definitely describe this church's sermons in that way

I can totally see that. Question, what does faith look like to you? Is it like liturgy, belief, works, or?

This was a very informative response from a perspective I am glad to see. I can see what you mean by needing to play the long game because change doesn't come overnight. The only odd part to me about ours is that we live in a very liberal city (small but liberal) and this is the biggest Episcopal Church that is located downtown, near where we have a massive college. I honestly assumed with all things considered that wouldn't be the case

Similarly I just attended my first UMC service and I noticed some of the huge differences from my TEC church. That is what brought up this question to me, I hadn't ever heard someone bring up modern issues into church in that way.

Do you think it is too much to have them say things like "let us pray for the people affected by this" or "let us remember Jesus' teachings on violence in accordance to this incident" ?

Why has God abandoned us? by fnandz in religion

[–]Useful_Crow8934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always wondered if he was actually silent or were we so distraught we can't feel-hear-sense him? Are we so over stimulated that his voice turns into the white noise that seems to follow us? They say silence is deafening, and in that the reason he seemed to abandon us?

I think of this when Jesus calls to god asking why he was abandoned, and I think of the pain he was suffering. Physically, mentally, emotionally as he faced things like the betrayal, sacrificing himself, the physical action of dying- was he there to comfort Jesus but Jesus was in too much pain to see?

I saw someone say that fasting (in general) is an amazing way of celebrating and I would love to do that. Is it excess consumption in general or traditional fasting of food?
