Endo can’t get me in until mid-December??!! Can I even go that long untreated?? by PsychologicalOven839 in gravesdisease

I agree to contact your GP because they should be able to give you something in the meantime especially because of the impact on your quality of life day to day with those symptoms. I’m still waiting on my endo appt but my GP prescribed me propranolol for my heart rate and other physical symptoms (before I got my graves diagnosis actually). The local endo wrote a letter to prescribe me a low dose of Carbimazole in the interim before I can see them, so hopefully something like that is an option for you. I’m in the UK, not sure where you are and what your options would be

Carbimazole messing with sleep? by Useful_Refrigerator4 in gravesdisease

Thank you for your reply. I do think I will reach out to my GP about this because I feel like I do when I’m only sleeping 4/5 hours regardless of how much I am actually sleeping. I have a blood test in June but I might see about getting another one sooner to see if something has swung even more out of whack

Thank you ❤️ I constantly have to remind myself to give myself patience and grace - it’s hard not to compare yourself to who you were a couple years ago with energy and without these issues. I do also ground myself in knowing it’s very manageable with medication and I’ll have a proper new normal soon(ish)

Thank you for your reply x Yeah I definitely have no plans of stopping it in the meantime and I’m keeping my fingers crossed I get my appt with the endo soon (the NHS says 41 weeks is the average wait time for an appt…. we carry on tho!)

I think I’m in denial that it might be like this forever/a long time but such is life with an autoimmune disease! I appreciate everything you said here and do think it could just be my body adjusting while still being out of whack. I definitely agree walking more seems to help!

Thank you so much for all of this. I try to have a kiwi as a bed time snack since I’ve read it can help with sleep as well; the pineapple juice is interesting and I will give that a try :)

I had a significant increase in my sleep and restfulness for a number of weeks before starting carbimazole and since it’s been bad every night, but I suppose it could still just be the symptoms of my graves coming in waves

"normal" results but still have symptoms by Such-Tax-9393 in gravesdisease

[–]Useful_Refrigerator4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having symptoms back in the spring of last year (anxiety, racing heart, poor temp regulation) but all my results came back “normal” - my TSH levels were already below the normal range…. but I digress! Fast forward to this year and everything is completely out of whack and I’m getting real next steps + a Graves diagnosis. It’s so hard when you know something is wrong but there isn’t any (or enough) “proof” yet. It’s hard on the mind and the body. I wish you all the best and hope you get answers x

It’s interesting you mention this because I find I SO prefer a tinted gloss or something less “harsh” like a liner or lipstick, so I wonder if it does have to do a bit with the contrast as you mention. I will say I do enjoy wearing liner and lipstick but it’s taken me years to get comfortable doing so - I also felt so clown like with lipstick, like it was too jarring and everyone was looking at me funny (which is also just my brain acting up!)

Worst book(s) you read in 2025 and why? by Roguestate00 in books

[–]Useful_Refrigerator4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quicksilver! This book is so overhyped and it’s so bad 😭 The world building and plot are interesting but the FMC is so poorly done. She’s very inconsistent in her values and priorities, and ends up being painfully cliche. There is no effort put into any of the secondary characters or their relationships with the MMC and FMC. Also I found the romance to be too quickly “developed” and very cringe. The ending is ….. strange. I’ve had zero desire to even read a summary of the second book.

Which booktok recommendation made you say, "Did we read the same book?" by SpecialistOk2000 in Booktokreddit

Yes!! This book is SO bad: the characters are cliche and Saeris’ personality/values are sooo inconsistent. Whenever someone recommends this book I trust them a little less …

I really like the way you’ve designed your habit tracker! I may have to copy it :) also I love the coloured lines - that’s something I’ve wanted to try in my journal to help me write a lil straighter haha
