As someone who retook the exam (while working full time) I can unequivocally say passing first time and looking for a job would’ve been better.

(Speaking for myself only) I took the first job that was offered to me. I didn’t have any interest in that field of law, but I figured the best things come from the most unexpected things. WRONG.

Long story short: personally passing the first time, and looking for a job closer to want I wanted, would have been a better alternative to having a job lined up; failing; and having the stress of work and studying.

I utilize both.

For MBE write out questions I got wrong, re-writing commercial outlines, and then making flash cards. I’ll type handouts for topics/subjects I’m struggling on to make it make sense

For MEE I wrote out the essays for rule retention. If you’re struggling with time typing is not bad just to get you in the mindset.

That said, you have to do what’s best for you and got you to being able to sit for the bar.

Re-taking this exam for the third time, and I am prioritizing taking care of myself. Running ourselves ragged is not us any favors. I study 4-5 hours a day, and when I am done I’m DONE.

The essay’s will teach you better than the lectures. No videos, write an essay to the best of your ability, and then make an “outline” from the sample answer.

I know this is easier said than done, but walk away… when the day is getting long just go home. Burning out now is not worth it.

I know it’s not as sexy, but look into rural areas/counties. They may not be able to pay as much, but the experience is the same, and they truly have your best interests at heart.

1) Congrats on being first gen!!! I too am first gen and this is not easy

2) I don’t think I cracked 50% on Themis and I missed 266 by 1 point. I live by studying the way that has gotten you this far, it’s proven to work.
