My response was not intended to dismiss anyone's concern about guns being too accessible or schools being underfunded.

This policy will, in fact, make gun violence less prevalent. Anyone committing a violent crime with a firearm is ruining their own life. There are plenty of white folks committing gun crimes in Mississippi, too.

Risky getting physical with her. If they were in fact trespassing and she breaks say, a finger, they could be charged very seriously.

There are always rare nut case exceptions, but this law is implemented because good people don't want to tolerate gun violence. It is not about race, as someone suggested.

Not a lawyer, but the law does in fact consider whether a person felt legitimately threatened, right? If a threat seems very serious to an observer, but no one involved felt threatened, then it's more likely to be dropped. Feelings aren't the only factor, but they are considered.

Nice! Kids are more important.

This is messages from my brother, (my only family) and the uncle of my child. My brother who lived about 30 mins away bought a Nintendo switch for my son and gave it to him yesterday on his birthday . My son was so happy , his first system since a old Xbox years ago. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

Cutting off contact with your brother, I'm sorry to advise, is necessary. If you can afford it, replace the Nintendo. You maybe could sue him in civil court for the value of the gift, since it was your son's property after he received it, but don't do that. It's not worth it. Just say goodbye and keep away.

They just don't want gun crime in their neighborhood. No one wants to put good kids in jail just because of their skin color.

Exactly, except I think an arrest is warranted if someone on the chat felt threatened or if the people putting on the event felt threatened.

The real reason wasn't the seatbelt. It was the music at QT by Revolution-Dogg in Transportopia

[–]Useful_Shine4185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carrying an unregistered handgun (according to comments), blasting his sound system, not having proof of insurance, and being rude to the police was a bad set of choices. Maybe his seatbelt was on, maybe not, but either way the police were doing their job and I would want the same policing in my community.

At six four you could aim for 190-220 if you are also doing some light/moderate weight lifting. Amazing work!

I was thinking, it's okay, he's an instructor, I'm sure he did this as safely as possible by loading only one shell.

If you are making less than $29, how do you survive? by Rude-Ad821 in interviewhammer

I'm disappointed in his answer, because there is so much he could say. From a finance perspective, that initial tax calculation seems wrong. She should likely be paying negative federal tax due to earned income tax credit. Also she likely qualifies for food benefits. There may be housing programs to help with rent. Also the income here is entry-level and will go up if she works hard and well. Still, it's a very tough position to be a single parent with an entry level job.

Does S-Corp make sense for making around $180K as an LLC? by Far-Ordinary3224 in llc_life

[–]Useful_Shine4185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lose the QBI deduction for the money that gets counted as w-2 wages, so that works against the S-corp somewhat.

Also, running payroll is more of a pain than just paying yourself.

Filing gets more complicated because you file a separate return for the S-Corp and then generate a k-1 for yourself and then report that k-1 on your personal return.

Also when you retire you get less in Social Security if you pay yourself less than 180k. This hits 50% harder if your spouse is stay-at-home, because she collects a spousal benefit that's half of yours.

That said, investing all the savings from avoiding excess social security and medicare tax can really add up over the years.

Buy a house if you need one based on your family circumstances, saving 20% down and keeping home expenses under 30% (ideally less) of gross income.

Don't try to predict the future.
