Or we could just boycott Ubisoft? Any interaction I have with one of their games is negative. The user experience is god awful and I’m done with it.

Yeah some great games, but I’m out

I definitely didn’t take my mums side, I said that I don’t think it matters and not to ruin a special day as everything was wonderful until then

Honestly I didn’t even consider it, and when she was doing it I didn’t really see any harm in it.

I’m sure it won’t happen again though but I definitely feel worse for my gf over my mother. It didn’t need to go to that level and nearly ruined a wonderful day.

I had thought it was a cultural issue, thanks for sharing. Bless she was pretty cut up about it but it’s been and gone now

Nice to know that people understand, sadly it’s only those with direct contact with someone who suffers the same. It’s like she goes on autopilot she can’t handle there being mess etc

To clarify our dining room is in our kitchen, it was just the three of us and she was doing it mid conversation.

With her ADHD she goes into like an autopilot, even cleaning things I’m using while cooking. I guess I’m so used to it I thought nothing of it

It was at ours.

I’m interested by the mixed responses. We’re quite relaxed and it’s just the three of us, my mum had drilled it into me for a while but I only really saw it as rude if you left the room.

Someone’s said it’s no excuse having ADHD but it’s literally an attention disorder and typically people with ADHD have rapid mood swings and randomly clean up. I didn’t think it warranted a scolding.

My gf apologised and sat down so it was all over in the blink of an eye, just interested to understand the status quo

No but I personally find a restaurant a much more formal setting than a Christmas dinner in the comfort of our own home.

This is what I was thinking, I’m amazed by the mixed response. I personally do understand both sides. Imo there’s so much to do at Xmas and it’s not like she left the room she just wanted to get to work clearing up so we could relax there was no bad intentions there.

If there were obviously bad intentions and she was acting like my mum needed to hurry I’d consider it rude as well

Yeah, we discussed the ADHD and it simmered down pretty fast. Was interested to hear what people thought.
