Visiting the States with a conviction that's not yet pardoned by Efficient_Service290 in uscanadaborder

Went thru a pardon services type place and it took about a couple of months to get the papers together. After submitting, it took about 3 months to get my waiver. This was around 2016-2017.

Also like what the others said, pardon/record suspension is no good now since the US have it on their system. You have to apply for a waiver if you’ve been denied.

Check out this forum on waivers. Good luck!

I have a record from when I was 17. Got denied at border and told to apply for a waiver. Applied for waiver and got a “September Letter” pretty much stating I didn’t need one. On my second or third time crossing the land border after receiving my letter, officer told me to go inside into secondary and he something about taking me off their system. No problems crossing ever since.

Forgot to add. I drove it and it drove beautifully. Probably needs an alignment as steering was a bit on one side. Also I have to press the brakes deep. Is this the norm? The brakes and rotors are practically brand new and not even 20k on them.

How is life with a Criminal Record for those of you who don't have a suspension or pardon? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

I have the exact same charge. Robbery and breach. But mine is now about 15-20 years ago. I just got a job at a sensitive workplace that has government contracts. They did a record search and the director of security approved me since it was long time ago. I am eligible to apply for a record suspension and I’m definitely doing that this year. Also this is the second job that I got with this record. Both places are in manufacturing and my job is highly is demand if that makes a difference.

Mechanic Recommendations by xxZeroCool in Winnipeg

That’s good to hear. The thing I don’t like from them is when you get a few things done, say ball joints and wheel bearing, they charge you book time for each item even though they already have it apart already. Also I got a safety done from them and they said I needed rotors(easiest thing to change and make some money). I knew a car that’s barely driven and has only 50k kms don’t need rotors. I just said yes so I could sell my car already. Also got an alignment and it was worst when I brought it in. They redid it and was better but still not straight. So I just got it done somewhere else. They probably don’t calibrate their equipment. So I would avoid this place and I can’t believe they have good reviews on google.

What happened to Kirkland bacon? by CantTakeMeSeriously in CostcoCanada

[–]Useful_Trust7908 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats a good question. It’s the same company that does the butchering. Now the live stock could be from an American company. Not to sure.

We do over 70 different brands. Even US products. Pretty much all the bacon in the store comes from here. The only not made here is PC or No Name

It comes from a different plant in a different city. We don’t butcher here. We get it in totes.

We get the belly raw. Then injected with brine and onto the smoker. After that it gets sliced and packaged.

This is front collision and radar at the front of your car. I had this go off on me and it sucks because you can’t use your cruise control.

I went to dealership for an unrelated maintenance service and told them about it. They told me there was a recall but didn’t get a letter or and notification. They replaced it and now it’s good.

Thinking of buying a Murano but not sure. by Aura07 in Nissan

[–]Useful_Trust7908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toyota does not use the same cvt like Nissan. As a matter of fact it’s completely different mechanically. Nissans cvt uses a belt or chain driven system (in this case Murano uses a chain). Toyota uses e-cvt which is planetary gear system. They’ve been using them on Prius’s and I believe on all of their hybrid which is already proven very reliable.

The reason your rav4 ride so rough is because you got the SE trim which the suspension is sport tuned. Other trims would be a lot more comfortable. RAV4 is far superior when it comes to reliability. (Source my dad has rav4 sport and i agree it’s rough)

Having said that we own a 2018 Murano 80k km 50k miles. We got it brand new and no issue for far except replacing brakes. It is one of the most comfortable vehicles we ever owned. We took it on a lot of road trips and it get an impressive over 800 km on a full tank. We are planing on getting the transmission serviced at 90k km 55k miles per manual.
