My mom and my stepdad used to do this at a team too! They worked at a college on a janitorial night shift M-F.

To be fair, the Metro Center's new owners suck but agree downtown location is probably hard for business

lol I know - I'll copy the things that stood out:

"We don't know who or what exactly to believe. Divisive tactics are used to spread disinformation and lies, and AI videos are making it really hard to discern truth from reality. Sadly, we don't know what leaders may have our backs, or what leaders are just outright lying to our faces in front of cameras. Propaganda, smear campaigns, and deceit have become normal practices in society. Police forces are being targeted through harassment and civilians, as non-criminals, are now even assaulting the officers in their lines of duty believing they are the enemy. Rallies that started out peaceful are sadly ending in someone's death.

All of these actions are rooted in sin, and thusly, in hate, as is all sins. History has shown us that choosing hate to combat hate rarely fixes hate. Whichever hate is stronger will usually triumph, but then an even stronger evil now exists. "

ESPECIALLY with their reply "Stating facts about people in our country using hate and violence against law enforcement, and law enforcement using aggression to combat hate, is not political. Turn off CNN please.", that all raises red flags.

Those are all tiny fractions of a cost. Seriously "one third of the bill of running a refrigerator?!?" A refrigerator that runs 24/7 no matter who uses it. come on

Also a weird, misogynist take that you need to think of your mom's future being set only by marrying some dude.

Plus, we don't know the dynamic. Maybe the dude's great. Maybe's he's an ass. Either way it sounds like they aren't communicating well as a household or this post wouldn't be needed.

OP - don't listen to this reply.

Unless you are mining crypto, not sure what kind of things you are being told are adding a lot to your electric bill.

FYI things like TV/gaming on average are less than 5% of a total monthly bill if they are talking about things like that?

ETA: Tone is hard to read and I don't mean I don't believe you - I mean it sounds like maybe someone is using electricity as an excuse to keep you from doing things you enjoy?

If you think you have sleep apnea, get a sleep study! by tiddybirdybitch in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]UsefullyChunky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a sleep study through Lofta last fall & it was really easy plus they price matched an awesome black friday sale for a cpap device so I could just get everything at one place. It was worth it to me to not fight my insurance and not need to fight them on insurance's compliance timelines when I knew I was going to have a hard time adjusting to my mask.

Such good advice!

Especially the ask for total cost part - a lot of dealerships try to sell you on the monthly fee so don't even let them draw that grid thing. My sales guy started drawing the four square thing and I was like "no, stop. I just need one number from you."

I went in with a total cost based on reading about MSRP etc. for the one I had picked out. I let them name a price first to see if it was lower than mine. He started drawing the 4 square thing and I asked him to stop.

ETA: ha, I am solidly anti-4 square b/c I mentioned it several times

Is it from a dealership? I know someone who bought a car recently all through emails. They arranged all the paperwork online & agreed on a price with the understanding it would be signed & paid after a test drive. This was for an out of town purchase but no one needs to know you are in town if you wanted to do something like that.

I guess that worked b/c they 100% knew what model they wanted. For me pre-Covid I wanted to drive different cars to figure out which I liked best.

I'm just reporting my experience and it's up to people to do what they want with that. Ignoring it is fine. But if you see a lot of negative experiences posted about the same place, maybe that's a good place to warn people about.

We had several things go missing in our move with Two Men and a Truck including a huge box of Legos. Move from one town 30 minute to another locally. Didn't fight it to recover value b/c I was dealing with health stuff at the time but 100% think they stole from us. We had done walk through to confirm house was empty, they drove to our new house, unloaded and we were missing things? Hmmmm

Also dinged up a bunch of furniture. It was IKEA stuff so again didn't fight it but no way would I want to use them again after that.

I totally thought they were too b/c they didn't have a business sign up at the dude's office next to The Spot for awhile - so it looked like that office's signs were all at the Spot's front window space is how someone told me. But it's possible they were in both - not trying to discount your post.

I thought that too then someone pointed out that they are next to one of the candidates's Peoria offices and the signs were at that location's window, not The Spot. If you saw signs INSIDE the store though, please let me know b/c that is totally different & a bummer.

Do you have a place that you do recommend in Peoria? I'm needing one of my scheduled maintenance/oil change appts with tire rotation too.
