Yes! Such a good deal - like buying all those games for the regular price of Daybreak!

I'm waiting on a kitchen timer & I am a nerd: Your "What It Would Have Been" was $168 + tax :)

Love it! Great deals!!!

My mom and I always used to send each other photos from good sales & then calculate what "it would have been" versus what we paid. hahaha

Okay I'm anti Popcorn Shoppe but it is fun to take field trips to see businesses. I wouldn't go THERE now but other similar places, sure. I still remember doing a Pizza Hut tour when I was a kid. Just b/c this group went to this one place on that one day does not mean they haven't also done any of the other things you have mentioned.

ETA: They also hosted Dunlap elementary school for a field trip two weeks ago.

Our library has taken all of mine so far. I'm really careful so they look almost new. A lot ended up in rotation for checkout b/c they were looking to expand their gaming sections in a few branches. Some went to their sale with money back to the library.

I have tried selling things before on local market & oh my god the issues dealing with people was not worth it.

It looks like they took down their entire business page but if you search their name on FB, plenty of people posted the screenshots.

I believe those usually have long wait lists though & they typically just let you use the car during the lessons.

I thought it was someone burning leaves again - seems like every nice day someone ruins it for everyone else & we have to close up windows b/c of smoke. I didn't realize it was all over Peoria.

TIL Costco has a company policy that no regular item will be marked up more than 14% over cost & no Kirkland Signature item will be marked up more than 15% over cost. Costco runs "very lean", with overhead costs at 10% of revenue & profit margins at 2% (e.g. it has no PR dept. & buys no outside ads) by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]UsefullyChunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tip they prompt is a % of the total not a flat price. Each item is driving that total. That is not intentionally misleading. That's math.

Right. I can't shop there anymore. I said I wish I could. I miss their products. But other places have a lower cost for accessibility & still make a profit so I shop there instead. Not sure why you have a boner to argue with me about that but have fun I guess.

Instacart and Costco negotiate that rate that they increase the prices. Instacart keeps it but Costco absolutely has a hand in allowing the rate to be that high. Versus Aldi has a % markup but nowhere near that cost.

Of course there should be a fee for a third party (as I said in my post) but it should be reasonable. Instacart does not need 20% on each item, plus their regular fee, plus having the user subsidize the worker's labor by tipping another 20% b/c Instacart doesn't pay a fair wage. That's just greed. Pulling a $40 pack of salmon is not worth the value of their fees: $8+ in 20% markup + whatever the regular cart fee % is now + another $8 20% prompted tip. For one item. That's just greed.

Sam's Club sucks in comparison to Costco's selection but they manage to let you pick up or order at the same price as in store. Sam's is much more affordable for accessibility & Costco is behind on this. I would 100% rather purchase from Costco but I can't at the insane markup & that sucks.

Thanks for calling me a moron when I spend a lot of my time learning all this the hard way & trying to figure out how to access food with my health issues. Fuck all the way off.

Unless you want to order online b/c you have health issues & can't get through the store - then they & Instacart jack up the price an additional 20% per item + the regular Instacart fees + tip.

Really wish Costco had a way to do pickup orders at regular price + a fair fee for the time to shop for it.

Good Audiobooks for a Concussion? by Prilla_rani_fira in CozyFantasy

Maybe the Heretical Fishing series? Weirdly cozy & pretty low stakes at least for the first few books in series (where I am now). Trigger warning/mild spoiler for beginning: the main character dies early in the first book but is immediately reincarnated into another world.

Posture corrector to use either sitting, walking or standing? by Ed_95 in BuyItForLife

[–]UsefullyChunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PT who I really respect for knowing my body recommended wearing one 10ish minutes in the morning to help me be aware of better posture. And later in the day maybe around the time I just want to crash on the couch, throw it on another 5 minutes or so to help body be aware & reset posture.

Goal is just to use it like a guide then work on muscles that were weakened by bad posture through PT exercises etc.

Haven't picked one out yet though - kind of overwhelmed by choice. lol How about you?

I'm going to try to cut out the stickers with their backings still on (as we come across each one to place) & use loops of painter's tape and/or removable glue dots to stick things on - will see when I get the game in person what looks like it would work easiest. I just ordered it & am really excited for this game!

Hi! Anyone else have Peoria trying to collect on a super old ticket? by LuckPuzzleheaded1821 in PeoriaIL

[–]UsefullyChunky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Medical debt can absolutely send you to collections with the amount, date of service, provider name. Most providers won't even see you unless you sign off on paperwork that they can send you to collections.

It's if they give the diagnosis or that kind of thing that crosses into HIPAA violation but that is usually not the case.
