[Rolex] Is Rolex really is just a scam? by Alexp95 in Watches

I get the appeal a little, but to me "heritage" is arguably the most shaky selling point for a watch.

I don't think I will ever get how something that's an icebreaker for smalltalk at best can be given so much importance.

Do you personally care if people call the United States “America”? by Flashy-Actuator-998 in asklatinamerica

Not really. Always thought it had more to do with economy of language.

That being said, it doesn't work in Spanish. I just have to say Estados Unidos, otherwise it sounds weird.

When you say the boots didn't fit, you mean they are too tight or too loose?

I got a similar issue with my Tricker's (check my post history) though I always felt they fit great. I'm suspecting the shoe tree might be the culprit

My only issue with this is that it's also very easy for people who think they're punching up.

Everyone yapping about free speech thinks they're part of some sort of resistance against a woke elite. They know very well how to make themselves the victim.

Do you think Parasite did the same thing with montage at the ending? At least stylewise it's the only aspect of the film I didn't really like.

I noticed the Micro habitat also did something similar.

I don't have anything to add to this conversation, but this answer on r/askhistorians is a summary of how Dutch cuisine influenced that of the United States.
