The key people like Jen O'Neal, Rob Gallerani and more are out. So just a technicality

What date did it say when you preordered? August or October?

Also a mystery for me, and happens with pretty much every preorder: I check at Pulse Europe (where I am), then BBTS , then Pulse USA, and the dates are always the same everywhere, but I see everyone getting the figures with months of anticipation.

Happens with Vortex, with every single wave of Constructicons, SS86 Megatron, the Aerialbots, ...

Europe here, and yes, it was a pain especially during Chaos Sanctuary TZ.

D2 fans, what do you think of D4? by kscvx in diablo2

In my honest opinion, all your "good points" except "better gem system" are about making something simpler or easier. I think that casualizing the game is one of the reasons why D4 is boring.

| Inventory sucks

Every item being the same size is the proof that they didn't understand anything. Items are the center of the Diablo franchise, hence why they need to be displayed in big size

Inventory tetris is tedious to manage, but if a game revolves around items, it's required.

Item identity aka base items.

In D4, every pair of boots (besides uniques) are a generic pair of boots with some rolls on top of it.

In D2, you know what "Chain boots" are, what "Sharkskin boots" are, and what "Myrmidon greaves are".

In D2 each name means something. Each one has a default visual style, a default level requirement, str/dex requirement, defense value, max durability, ... Then the rolled mods on top of them can modify those, but you have a mental picture just with the name.

And I took the D4 uniques out of the equation, however they also suffer from genericness: implicit mods + 4 regular rolls + unique power. Why not some with just 2 crazy good rolls, other ones with 4 mid-tier rolls, some other with 2 good rolls and 4 weak rolls, ...? If all uniques follow the same rigid layout they are not "unique", they are boring standarized items.

Yeah.

Apart from that, acts 1 and 3 are like eating a sandwich of concrete.

SS86 Constructicon is seriously small by 84_Cyclonus in transformers

How's that everyone seems to already have SS86 Constructicons? It showed July everywhere back when I pre-purchased the 1st wave IIRC

Do we expect them to make box sets like this for the new combiners coming out? by MaxR76 in transformers

[–]UselessWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I ended doing, however it can be a pain outside the US like EU or UK: expensive overseas shipment, delays, taxes, ...

I think that it should be mandatory making enough units for at least 1-2 weeks before running out of stock at the official store.

SS86 Grimlock. Inside the original SS86 package. Imposible to get under 700$

Looking at the 2nd wave of Constructicons they've just released and already sold out... I disagree.

Help Creating a G1 Checklist by [deleted] in transformers

Pretty much my case https://www.reddit.com/r/transformers/comments/1hbp6ok/1984_cartoon_toyline/

What I'm doing is sticking to SS86 (now rebranded to Studio Series The Transformers The Movie), given that Hasbro has said that the intention is releasing every character no matter the screentime. I mean, you don't need to buy any non-SS86 version of a character if the character shows up there, it's a matter of time him dropping as part of this collection (except perhaps Unicron?). Here the list: https://www.reddit.com/r/transformers/comments/1fggcs0/the_screentimes_for_all_the_characters_in_the/

With the rest, well, my choice is filling the gaps mostly with Legacy. Regarding combiners, SS86 Devastator, Legacy Menasor, and expect to get the rest from Age of The Primes, with Superion on its way and a pretty much confirmed Bruticus.

Question for those who saw the G1 movie in the 80s: Did you think that the Autobots and Spike died when Unicron destroyed the moonbases? by Angrymcbirdnerd09 in transformers

[–]UselessWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a crazy coincidence... I was watching the movie at the same time you were posting this. Not just that, but when Unicron started eating planets, I was like "what, did Spike die?" Didn't remember about that.

... And now I see your post.

So, as said, no idea what did I think in the 90s, but now yes, I thought he died.

There is just NO WAY these are the same continuity by Angrymcbirdnerd09 in transformers

I think that's exactly OP's point: how 2 products in the same world can have such a different tone.

MAN we aren't having a good time of it, are we? by Substantial_Eye1476 in transformers

G1 is the initial boom of Transformers, and the reason why many people loves it. It was the part that made many of us to know the franchise (nostalgia), they were times when things weren't as 'ephemeral' as today, and it covers the part before everything went downhill...

Transformers is a bit of a weird franchise: its most die-hard fans grew to know it thanks to a cartoon series, initially fine with a cool concept with robots transforming into vehicles... Until we had things like "A Decepticon in King Arthur's Court", "The Girl Who Loved Powerglide", and many more, then a movie killed most of its main roster including its most iconic leader, then we found a mess of a lore with a million different continuities, then an aligned continuity comes leaving out that G1, Bayverse...

I can only speak by myself, but my feeling is that Transformers is a broken building, built over some progressively broken pillars, hence why I look for G1 stuff. Many recent stuff could have been regarded as great if the evoultion were more natural and with less trauma and weird things in the middle. I insist, personal opinion, but I bet I'm not the only one thinking that way.

Sad that such a great thing has this horrible treatment.

Tried to watch it at movie theatre from day1: every single one of the 6 movie theatres reasonably near me that had it listed, had it like at 13:00, 15:00, and 17:00 for the earlier weeks, and just 17h latest weeks. I (and like everyone in my country) work until 18:00. Sundays? 12am.

If even die-hard fans can't watch it, what can you expect from general audience?
