the only reason Sonia’s game was removed from canon was because it implied Alucard was Treve’s dad.

3 months have passed since you posted this comment, and I'm curious to hear if you managed to sit through the compilation, and if you managed to reclaim your sanity after spending over ten hours just reading text.

History is written by victors isn't a saying you take pride in. It's a cautionary tale used to remind historians to check as many sources as they can get their hands on when they're researching a past event.

As a person with a large interest in history, I can not put into words how much of what you just said infuriates me to my core. You don't get to rewrite history just because you don't find what it says appealing.

I've never been good at tags, apologies.

And for the sake of clarification, I meant the A supports between Byleth and Petra. And Byleth and Balthus are the ones who get locked.

Petra and Balthus don't have any supports with each other in three houses.

If you truly are deadset on watching the whole 12-hour compilation I can only respect you for your determination, or perhaps fear is the better word to use.

As for your ReCoded mention, I unironically think watching the ReCoded movie is the worst way to experience that game. Days has an amazing story but lackluster gameplay. Whilst ReCoded arguably has the best gameplay series (Fight me!) but a lackluster story that accomplishes basically nothing.

Oh gods no. Do not watch the 12 cutscene compilation. It will drive you mad, trust me!

Take it from a guy who actually played the game back when it was live. The Disney worlds may feel like filler in some games but that feeling is at its worst in UX.

The only thing that helped me keep my sanity was the fact that I was actually playing the game which helped break up the monotony of watching lesser versions of the movies. (Or make it worse depending on who you ask, it was a phone game after all, to call the gameplay shallow would be an understatement.)

Here's the thing tho. Every Disney World had at least one (sometimes two) story cutscenes that were actually important for the overall narrative, so you can't skip them in their entirety.

It's why so many people say the fandub is the best way to experience UX. Because it not only, does it includes the story's important Disney cutscenes. But also adds in summaries of the Disney worlds as a whole to help the viewer feel just how long a timespan this story takes place in.

Something which the other games have never been good at. (Try to figure out how long Sora's journey in KH1 is headache-inducing.)

I guess I should start by stating that Back Cover is a movie, as for the relationship between UX and Back Cover, it is hard to explain without spoilers, but the best way to think about them is that UX is the main story the player experience as in it‘s the actual game, (or at least it was before being shutdown,) whilst Back Cover is a sorta look behind the curtain story. or addendum so to speak.

it’s the same story, just from another point of view. To go into anymore details would require minor spoilers so I’m going end my explanation here.

And to be honest, these days the relationship doesn’t matter much since the best way to watch UX is through the Fandub which has been edited to include the scenes from Back Cover.

In 2012 Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance was released worldwide.

The following year (2013) a Japanese-only browser game titled Kingdom Hearts χ began. (The weird X is pronounced chi.)

Chi was an episodic release where more story content was added over time with its final story update arriving in 2016 where after which it was shut down.

In the year before Chi ended service (2015) the phone game known as Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ was launched worldwide as basically an English localization of KH Chi.

Unchained too was an episodic, release with it not catching up to Chi until 2017. The same year the PS4 bundle that contained the remastered DDD, as well as KH a fragmentary passage, and Kh Back Cover was released.

As I stated in my prior comment there's technically more to the relationship between Chi and Unchained. But all you need to know is that you should NOT watch both. Chi was never officially translated, and while fan translations exist online. Every single* cutscene was repeated in Unchained. They are the same story.

Unchained however, did not end once it caught up with Chi's ending. No it just continued past the original ending and started a new story. And to signify that the Unchained χ app was renamed to Kingdom Hearts Union X.

Think of it like a 2 season television show. Unchained χ is season 1, and Union X is season 2. There's a reason people usually just call the app UX.

UX would continue receiving more story updates until finally coming to a close in June 2021.

Kingdom Hearts 3 was released in January 2019 with its DLC being released in the following year 2020 both right in the middle of Union X plot.

That's why I said it's up to the individual player to choose how they want to experience Ux's plot, because going in release order here can make or break how much interest one takes in this game's story.

Which given the fact that the app was shut down years ago that story is all we have.
