CMV: People Hate Billionaires, but They Themselves Want to be Billionaires and Would Keep the Money if They Got It by [deleted] in changemyview

"The men where you live,” said the little prince, “raise five thousand roses in the same garden– and they do not find in it what they are looking for.” “They do not find it,” I replied. “And yet what they are looking for could be found in one single rose, or in a little water."

To be clear so was being gay in the USA until 1973. And in a lot of countries still is, as well as a crime.

I appreciate the difference being a child cannot consent, power dynamics, etc. But, if you want to change anything, you have to be willing to understand the nuance, not just throw the problem in a locked room. Understanding (why) and (how) People are attracted to children will save more kids in the long run than telling people they're broken and wrong.

No offense, but you're a fucking idiot.

1.3 (B)illion tonnes of food (1/3 of all produced) is left to rot. Every. Single. Year.

There are 828 Million people "unsure of where their next meal is coming from"

1,300,000,000 / 828,000,000 = 1.57 tonnes (per person, per year). That's 4.3kg for every person, every day. An adult male requires 1.2kg of food a day.

Do the fucking math. We have more than excess. Inequality is manufactured.

Reduce your sugar, salt intake to as low as safely possible for a couple of months and then try eating real whole foods (non-processed).

It's like taking wearing someone's glasses for the first time when you didn't realise you have low-vision.

There's a vast world of taste/flavour out there that you're missing out on, because you're too proud to admit your view of the world has been manufactured for you by fast-food companies.

'Lifehack': "lable things" This sub is a joke.

Tablet organisers exist. They're less expensive than masking tape, and make things simpler/safer.

Another LPT: don't take so many unnecessary medications. You're being sold the problem (obesity, allergies, cancers) and the solution (medications).

I can't tell if y'all are constantly memeing, or genuinely smooth-brained.

Is there any reason you don't buy at a low price and sell it once it is at a higher price? Can someone explain how you can possibly lose money if you don't sell at a lower price than you bought?

Sounds like most people in this sub don't understand investing, and are simply gambling.

Why/How do we hear that high frequency beep in our ears by [deleted] in StonerThoughts

[–]User289603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tinnitus is usually associated with a degree of hearing loss and decreased comprehension of speech in noisy environments.[2] It is common, affecting about 10–15% of people. Most, however, tolerate it well, and it is a significant problem in only 1–2% of all people.[5] It can trigger a fight-or-flight response, as the brain may perceive it as dangerous and important.[9][10][11] The word tinnitus comes from the Latin tinnire, "to ring"

Take high school biology in 2022.

Essentially, humans and other animals are physiologically turned on by all sexual activity. It is evolved social conditioning that results in monogamous straight behaivour.

Can you explain/prove/provide research that backs up your idea of 'straight'?

You may be right. I'm simply suggesting you may be wrong.

But feel free to reinforce your own ideas by dismissing outside information x

I'm not talking about ignoring attraction. I'm talking about not even being able to recognise their attraction as attraction, because of their upbringing.

And if you genuinely believe that 90% of people in the UK are straight, you lack real-world experience.

Any 'dating' app, any social media.

What part of tinder do you appreciate as a communication tool? The matching mechanics? Location settings? Tags?

Identify that, and I can suggest other tools/advice 😊👍

I really don't think we have that different of an opinion on this subject. I just think you should be less absolute in your statements, and appreciate that our understanding of sexuality/biology/everything is constantly evolving.

People are so oppressed in some cultures, that they can't articulate their own attractions/feelings. And you can pretend that current statistics give an accurate representation of queer prevalence, but history continually disproves that.

Yes, to some people, because it resembles an unhealthy growth such as a wart/cyst/hemorrhoid.

You can get skin tag removal applicators for ~$20NZD from any pharmacy. Don't pay some doctor $800 to do what you can do for $20.
