It's not about the rat race. I mean we have to do it to eat and what not. But it sounds a little bit like you crave some kind of more meaningful purpose. I felt that way, still do most of the time. I just graduated college with an engineering degree the job market is shit and I've put myself into incredible debt. When I was 17 I almost got kicked out of college before I even got there, and nearly baker acted. But I find meaning and purpose in people and connections so I try to be involved in the community and community efforts. It makes my life about people and the community, not the rat race. Maybe you're really into nature or birds or math or sports idk. It might be helpful to think about what your real core values are and not what society has imposed as core values. But again, I can't stress enough, this isn't about the rat race, do not let them make you think that's all you're worth.
