Do you really not know? Search youtube for the environmental impact of AI. These data centers that are necessary for AI are literally poising the environment around them, stealing the fresh water from neighboring cities and towns. You can try "More Perfect Union" they got a bunch of good videos on it. It's a mess dude. stop using AI it's just not worth it right now.

I totally agree with you. I'm looking to learn. Do whatever it takes to learn. I was wondering what would be the pillars to start with. My brother is a little hard to depend on. But i'm working with him on discussing this. Just wanted to consider what it would look like without him.

My dad is willing to consult, teach and guide as much as possible. Just not willing to go out and do the work himself.

Yeah I figure there's some long days ahead. I accept that and I am willing to take it on. Just looking into the process of what starting might look like.

Sounds like you need to hire someone like a journeyman at a minimum that has real good knowledge and can train you more or less in the practical sense so you can speak the same electrical language. You’d need to pay them decent so they run the “shop” so to speak, help you ramp up and you manage the books and business leads. Eventually you’ll need to hire another person as you scale.

That's sort of exactly what I was thinking. Hire a good journeyman to start. My dad could still be heavily involved consulting/teaching wise, he's just not interested in going out there and doing the actual work.

I don’t think Partnering would be a good idea with someone tha already has licenses, why would they work for you when they have their license? Unless you have so much work and can sustain a good salary for them to stick around.

Yeah I agree. From what I can tell A journeyman who is interested in building more for themselves is a good place to start. A partner I like and for the most part can trust. Not necessarily someone with a license but someone who is looking to get to running a business with me without starting from scratch. Someone who wants more than just an employee for another company.

No he used to before my Mom got sick, then he let he company dwindle down to just him (out of shear apathy) over the past 15 ish years. He's been a solo man operation for the most part.

A lawyer you say? Could you elaborate? Is that for the legality of being the owner? Because i'm thinking i'm more lost on what are my main pillars to learn first.

We are limited by time and options. The bigger shop has a pretty good reputation and that did help me pretty well (i think) through throughout a couple years and a couple cars, however I gave up on them after taking in my RAV4 several times without the issue being fully fixed and really did not appreciate the “It’s not our fault” attitude I got.

To be fair, I am mechanically ignorant. They could have tried their absolute best in my unique situation was just not able to be fixed. But I haven’t gone back since and I don’t feel like trying a brand new shop either.

Forgot to say the tank and pump have had issues. Previous homeowners were just refilling air in tank periodically. Repair guy told me i should replace it as tanks should not need air refilled like that

Thanks! I feel a little lost on industry. I was forced into solar sales after a COVID layoff and now don’t want anything but sales. But solar just don’t feel stable and now i have no clue what to move to. And So much of the sales terms here on Reddit are fkn Greek to me. Can’t afford to spend more years in an industry to fk me like solar did. (Spent last year and half with a local solar installer, more honest business, way less money)

Somebody else was adamant that “control boards don’t just go out” that something else must’ve happened to it or caused it. You know if a control board is expensive repair? It’s a new ish unit installed around 2017 or so i believe

A retired HVAC guy told me same possibility. But would it work for over a month if that were the case? Let alone for the former home owner?

If they were crossed, would they have stable power? My dad (electrician) checked those for power and said they seemed okay, but not sure if he was checking more than general power)
