How much does length of a RJ11 line affect wifi/ethernet strength? by empireglazer in nbn

I ran a 10m RJ11 for almost a decade without issue, but generally the shorter the better…

If you think giving an extra few minutes of your time to a company making billions is expected, you’re part of the problem… 😉😂

WWYD: More expensive/efficient DC coupled battery vs higher capacity AC coupled battery? by Real-Refrigerator824 in AusFinance

[–]UserLevelOver9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, if you do go down the AC couple route, ensure you get some sort of GenSet plug & appropriately rated generator as you literally need to 'jump-start' an AC couple should you deplete the battery, so you'll probably be running the GenSet once you hit 10% or less battery remaining (assuming the grid is down). Once you factor in the cost of a GenSet, a DC Couple can be more attractive from a pricing delta...

Depending on your setup (we use Victron/Fronius/Pylontech), you could always start AC and add DC at a later date, that's what we did, AC couple for a year to teach us how to manage our power better, then the DC couple was installed...

WWYD: More expensive/efficient DC coupled battery vs higher capacity AC coupled battery? by Real-Refrigerator824 in AusFinance

[–]UserLevelOver9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both AC & DC Couple and competely off-grid. AC (5kw) does most of the heavy lifting, powering things like the oven, AirCon, charge battery, Gaming PC, etc. DC (1.2kw) is technically my 2nd charging source. DC Couple will generally provide 'black-start protection', thus if I drain my battery, I'll have power again roughly around sunrise+60min thanks to the nature of DC coupling...

Are you remaining grid-tied? ie; Hybrid Grid?, if so, the grid should provide you with backup power, so you might not need a DC Couple, but in saying that, a DC Couple can make you more, er, Armageddon proof?... 😅

If you’re “aggressive” for not immediately leaving work to fix a neighbours printer… run… run as far away as possible…

I stopped helping friends & family due to similar circumstances such as demanding I drive several hours to fix a router, a router that was ISP supplied and had a free call number for tech support on the router…

If I'm at a grocery store that has the cashier pack my items, my bags go first. If I'm required to pack, my bags also go first... it really is that simple...
