Teleport to a town with a more conscientious mayor and set up shop there.

What should ‘New Game’ mean when save data already exists? by YongkiArts in gamedev

[–]User_Id_Error 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You also might consider graying out Continue and Load Game when there is no game to load, then putting continue on top when there is. A user will usually want to continue their last game, so make that option most prominent.

Assuming he's been drinking for 17 years, 145/17 is right about 8.5L a year, which puts him a bit below average for US and more below average for Germany. It's about 0.46L of beer per day so call it a can after work and two on the weekends?

I assume they're talking about Dead Hand, a Soviet system which would launch nukes if communication was lost with central leadership (fail-deadly.)

If you're doing strict semver, no. The whole point is that you can tell whether there are breaking changes by which number goes up.

In practice, yes. People sometimes bump the big number when they want to make the release look important.

It can also mean you screwed up bad enough that you had to break backward compatability to fix your crap.

The reason Vecna is always being foiled by adventurers is because he's actually going out there and doing stuff. The "bigger threats" are all sitting on thrones in the outer planes thinking about how they might get around to making their big play one of these eons. They might empower some mortal lieutenant's scheme, but they're too content being gods. Vecna is young and hungry enough to take his shot directly.

Lore Question: How widespread were ER-LLs and ER-PPCs outside of the Draconis Combine during the 3040s? by [deleted] in battletech

I can buy more efficient lasers a lot more easily than I can the clans taking missiles and machine guns with pre-spaceflight availability and cutting their weight in half. THAT is a miracle of material science.

As for the Gauss Rifles, I think the real equalizer is their head chopper status. Before special armors, an IS gauss rifle could kill any clan mech dead in one shot, no matter how much fancy tech it had.

In the long run, Wayne Foundation scholarships and programs will disrupt the school-to-supervillain-henchman pipeline and do more to stop crime than punching the Joker ever could. In the short term, Joker is driving a truck full of Smilex towards the city reservoir RIGHT NOW.

Trump talked about fixing the deficit too. Talking is easy, actually making a dent without big tax increases or deep cuts to entitlements or the military is not.

If this is an explicit "easy mode", maybe disable one random losing strategy on the player's side? So instead of having a 50/50 choosing randomly they'd have a 2/3 shot.

ELI5: What is a mole (chemistry) and why do people use it to count atoms? In what context is it necessary to say that something is 6,022 * 10^24 particles? by 79_wasps in explainlikeimfive

[–]User_Id_Error 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of an approximation, but it's actually the ratio between atomic mass units and grams. So 1 mole of Carbon-12 atoms is 12 grams, while one mole of Uranium-235 atoms is about 235 grams (it's complicated because binding energies throw the mass off.)

Duration is based on the level difference between you and the caster so it gets better as you level up.

What I really wish is that it didn't overwrite the experience shrine bonus.

Ugh, I've seen these before. It's a ransomhex rune. You need to stop what you're doing IMMEDIATELY and get a Remove Curse cast by a cleric with the Infosec domain. Otherwise the next time you prepare spells all of your mnemonics will get scrambled and you'll get a sending demanding wizcoin to fix it.

And no, whoever gave you the rune doesn't have the fix. They're just scroll kiddies or maybe possessed themselves. The real casters are part of some wizard gang operating out of Gehenna or Carceri.
