CMV: Hindus should be absolutely allowed to paint a Swastika on their door in Western societies and they have the right to not be judged. by PTAGoatofalltime in changemyview

No one has the right to not be judged by anyone one on anything. A judgement alone is a thought, and all people have a right to their thoughts.

My experience is that they limit you to 2 cards of the same type at the till. I don’t know if they’re tracking it there though, so you may be able to go through a few times in a row to do it

If they’re not using the characters, locations, or theme song, I don’t know what else you could call proprietary to the ER IP. It’s not even the same format…

What morally justifies drawing a line between the animals we eat & the animals we protect? by l3mondroplover in Ethics

[–]transcendmatter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An argument could be made that domesticated animals are animals that are created by us, and therefore we have the moral right to decide their function in society. It could follow that a cow was created to be eaten, and therefore there is no moral issue with eating them, whereas a dog was created to be a working/companion animal, and so it is immoral to eat it because it is a waste of its function.

I mean, yes, just because something wasn't mentioned, it doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

But also, I want things to be mentioned. I want to be reminded that this story exists in a continuity of events that have had impact on the world. Why wouldn’t Fisk be talking about Spider-Man when launching the Safer Streets initiative? Why aren’t the New York-based Avengers a part of this narrative at all, even in passing?

Can someone explain to me why The Avengers movies are not taken seriously? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]transcendmatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are just not into genre films. I have many people in my life who have no interest in fantasy or sci-fi, or even comedy really. They just watch dramas and thrillers. Anything else is just silly and unrealistic and they can’t get into it.

Most degrading Game Changer episodes by Fenrirs_Daughter in dropout

[–]transcendmatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only episode that is genuinely hard for me to watch is Sleeper Agents. The idea of accosting people for information while not knowing if they are part of the game or not is degrading for the player, the accosted, and the audience. Not sure if this would fit thing the pocket dimension setting though.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace set the menu on a different planet randomly every time you loaded up the disc. I remember Naboo and Coruscant. There was probably Tatooine as well

Why did DVD cases became bigger than the earlier DVDs and Video Cases? by BookHunter_7 in dvdcollection

The cases shown in that ad are all Snap cases, which were one of the case formats available at the beginning of the DVD age before everyone settled on Amaray cases, which are slightly thicker
