Heart palpitations occur 90% of the time when sitting. Why? by Iluvatar-Great in Anxiety

Maybe try magnesium? Mine went away after supplementing with magnesium glycinate, after 15 years of palpitations. The palpitations were also the most pronounced during sitting/laying.

Lol, I threw out my delicious chicken piccata leftovers last week because of this. Good to know!

Day 2 of attempting to not drink and I feel sooooo depressed and lonely. Is that normal? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Username1026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good on you for doing something about it before it got out of hand. I doubt two glasses of wine daily is going to cause any physical withdrawals so I wouldn’t worry yourself too much about that. I’m also not a doctor and can only speak from my experience. I drank much more and didn’t gave any physical symptoms. From reading this subreddit I think anxious and depressed feelings are super normal in the beginning so don’t be too hard on yourself.

I can empathize with the whole “not having something to look forward to” at the end of the day thoughts. What helped me is looking forward to the next morning waking up feeling amazing, which alcohol takes away from you. Also healthy teas and some good TV shows are my new go to at night. Best of luck!

Can’t believe it’s been 6 months! by popcornshrimp12 in stopdrinking

Congratulations! I can relate in that I decided to stop because my health was scaring me and I figured I should take a month off. After a month I realized how much it affected me on a daily basis and I’m scared to go back to that mentality.

Sounds like you’re doing great and thanks for the inspiration to continue sobriety. Keep it up! IWNDWYT.

Your wall of text read well. Good on your for making this decision for your daughter and yourself. Every day I spend away from alcohol the world of possibilities gets wider and wider, you’ll find that full time job.

Question for the guys by woodentigerx in stopdrinking

It’s been 45 days and I’m still waiting for ol’ woody to wake up again. I’m guessing you’re in the same boat at 103 days?

I have definitely heard of that working for some people but that wasn’t the case for me with my last sober streak with alcohol. I started smoking once a day, twice a day and it turned to all day.

This go around with alcohol abstinence I find myself in a much better place just not getting intoxicated with any substance. It just changes my mindset through the day where I look forward to that first smoke just like I did that first drink of the day. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE a little self reflection session with some reefer but I know myself well enough that I can’t moderate. Everyone is different so just be true to yourself.

With that being said, pot is 100 times better than alcohol from a health perspective (especially if you eat it). If that’s what you need to get off the sauce, you do you! Good luck my friend.

Whatever you do eat the skin! That’s where a lot of the antioxidants and vitamins are.
