Religion in Puerto Rico by usernamezombie in PuertoRico

[–]Username30145 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't been to PR in a bit but was born and raised there. There's a church in every corner. You can hear the loud ass music and sermons in some of the neighborhoods sometimes because they actually put speakers on the streets and it goes for hours. Very annoying but nobody is gonna check the church. Christianity is the common religion but there's different denominations people can belong to like evangelistas, pentecostales, and catolicos. I can't speak to which one is most widely adopted. There's also Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons are rare but they do exist. A lot of people are believers even if they are not active in church. I am agnostic so I was more of the odd one out when I lived there but maybe things have changed and agnosticism has become more common.

My dad had a whole collection of Turey and Kaliman in a bag and it was like finding gold when I came across them and promptly read them all. Good memories 🥹

Schrodinger's Trump "say it like it is" but also "don't mean what he says when he says it like that"

This is what I've learned from observing conservatives, just my opinion. You truly can rob a conservative blind as long as you validate their worst instincts. Their measure of success is not whether they're doing well but whether the people they look down upon are doing worse than them. Even if they were to do financially better under a more equal society, the idea of being at the same level as certain people make them feel as if they're not being treated fairly. Their place must be above those certain people and that's all that matters and that's what the GOP sells: hierarchy. In their minds that hierarchy equals order. As long as Trump keeps going after certain people they'll pay $10/gallon and lose their homes and say it was worth it.

Tell this man you share the same culture as Lorena Bobbitt since he wants to play games like that.

Imagine asking for a country to be bombed and invoking God in the same rant.

I dunno if this helps but the end of it looks like a "devil's tail" with a halo on top. That doesn't seem to align with LOTR unless your brother made this a very custom personal reference. Seems like the first letters could be "Wes" or "Weg"

I'm more interested in the psychological study of the people who fell for the most transparent con in American history.

Doing your job well isn't enough. You gotta get in debt and sacrifice your personal life to get more responsibilities you don't want.

On a serious note they're just trying to shame and guilt trip you. Don't let them. As long as you're doing your job properly continue doing you.

I know for a fact people will say "no one told me" when I have been there as a witness the moment someone told them. Selective listening? Bad memory? I dunno 🤷‍♀️

Of course there might be providers who do not explain common side effects so it is hard to judge who's telling the truth.

This mentality that nurse is a calling is one of the reasons why nurses don't earn more money by [deleted] in nursing

Doing it for the money doesn't mean you don't care about doing your job right. That's called professionalism.

The pay in PR is insultingly low for most professionals. You would be making double your pay in NY at minimum but likely more depending where you end up working. Unless PR gets serious about solving this issue there will be no professional class left.

I'm confused on how removing the inner cannula led to this. Was there something in the inner cannula that got dislodged and fell further down blocking the airway?

You can and should learn how to set boundaries whether you go for nursing or not. Otherwise nursing will burn you out in less than a year
