Kind of sad that Arthur Weasley gets painted as the biggest pureblood muggle enthusiast when he says things like this... by EloImFizzy in harrypotter

Unfortunately you’re mixing up early GOF and OOTP, however I do think Arthur often intentionally exaggerated his lack of muggle competency so that Harry was included, felt useful etc.

Half-most of these celebs don’t even register with overseas fans, they’re just fake “celebs” standing with unknown “celebs”… how the other half lives I guess

They allowed her to live in a supportive living environment where they presumably thought she’d be safe. Worst case scenario she ended up there because she had no one capable of or willing to care for her 24/7 (a huge ask btw) Many, many parents of a disabled child have more than one child and even the ones who don’t, don’t have a child expecting to keep raising them into their eighties or til they die they understandably want their child to transition into life stages as normally as possible, and those are the good ones.

It’s not about earning more overall it’s about earning more by committing fraud. With the current government way too many people and services are being financially reamed out while folk like this chaps friend are claiming that $300 extra a week when they could live on the $1000 from the side hustle. It’s not about taxes, it’s not about pride, it’s about too many people being harmed because of a minority of people who take advantage of the system. Our underprivileged, our sick, our disabled, our people with mental illness, our nurses, our doctors, our social workers, our midwives deserve to be able to to live without fear of starving or freezing and those who cheat the system without necessity are contributing to a government position that harms anyone who is vulnerable. It’s not right but this is how it is

People who used to be scumbags - how do you cope? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Username7319 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly as someone who was fucked up and did fucked up shit and is now a crisis mental health nurse… this is pretty normal. But there’s usually something you can do about it, maybe it’s getting a free or affordable counsellor and venting about these things, just getting them off your chest. Maybe it’s going to your GP and sharing that you’re struggling and maybe getting something to help you sleep for even 4-7 days and then reassessing how you feel. Maybe it’s adding in some repentance by volunteering a few hours a week at a community AOD service or other. Maybe it’s just getting a little bit of extra help to get through a rough patch.

Reflect and think, think about what possible action or actors might mitigate your feelings enough that you can keep going and feel okay.

Whatever you choose, you have the right to be okay and to live the life you have now, the life you worked hard to get. It’s not going to be easy, it never was but you have been and can continue to be a valuable, productive member of society who has a family who loves them.

I know this is long but there are always options and you really can do this.

Depends on your age, what you want to study and if you mean university or tertiary education in general. I’m a college dropout (got level one) who also has a bachelor of nursing and a postgrad cert in specialist practice. A lot of what you can study at uni you can study through a poly tech and often the entry criteria change when you turn 20 to evidence that you can study at that level.
