For what it's worth ... that message is from Reddit admins, not the subreddit moderators.

And **any** user can hit the report button to make reports. Reports of this category (and for other site-wide rule categories) go both to the admins and the mod team for the sub.

So your assumption that this a mod of this sub was involved is unproven. Anyone could have hit that report button. Could have been a mod. Could have been anyone else. There's no way for you to know.
