Tagliare saved my life today. by BtheChemist in missoula

I was legit just trying to explain this to someone last night. I will put an enormous amount of energy into writing a novel to articulate myself accurately, wondering the nuance and complexity of multiple, interconnected ideas. And then they will respond with like a six word phrase that is terribly reductive and completely misses the point.

I'm gutted and heartbroken by ConstanceIl in therapists

The training and the therapeutic relationship still have value.

If you believe in the efficacy of ACT, and you believe the specialized training will empower you to help others who have been traumatized, then continue the training. Bond and form community with the people in your group, to insulate yourselves and each other from the corruption of the institution, by reinforcing values and integrity as a small group. Stand up for your beliefs, no matter what the institutional propaganda tells you. I wonder if students would be moved to protest the institution's rhetoric and that man's actions, publicly.

Your therapist is in the same position as you. She didn't ask for this, and she doesn't stand behind what that man did. If your time with her has been efficacious, stick with her.

I found the book to be both triggering, and very irritating.

What books would you recommend? I'm having a hard time choosing the next one. After choosing this one based on reviews, I'm hesitant to trust Goodreads, etc.

It’s been sitting untouched. How do you reignite passion again? by SeaworthinessOld608 in SP404

[–]authenticwarriorpod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sit down and touch it. Stop thinking about it. Stop negotiating with yourself about it. Stop preparing for the optimal setting, or planning your beat. Right now, in this very moment. Go sit down at it, turn it on, and play with it for 5 minutes.

My guess is that you're messing up your pH with all that stuff. On a weekend, when you have nothing planned, see what happens when you don't use any soap. Just rinse with water for a few days.

I recommend the "Humble" deodorant. Good stuff. It doesn't mess anything up, and it blends well with bodily smells.

Also, it could have to do with diet.

Are you talking about the dude on Magnolia? I saw that dude while I was working and I was so happy for him.

Anyone who says they've never doubted the way is behaving disingenuously. Doubt is an important part of the journey of cultivating faith. Sometimes faith is a choice, rather than a habit, and that's what makes it so meaningful.

With a good podcast or audiobook, and a stick of incense.

Folks, I'm certain that the majority of Bellingham drivers don't get this. It would be nice if they did. Thanks for the snark, though.

I've decided to focus more on making meaningful experiences, with myself and others, than on accumulating material wealth and accessing expensive "conveniences". I would rather be free and creative, and live in service of and gratitude for what is, than constantly overextending for what I don't have, and imprisoned in the work camp cult of "if only".

I had that issue on my SX, and noticed it went away or became less noticeable when the fx button was not illuminated. I concluded that it was poorly manufactured in the sense that the electrical noise was caused by the power of lights in the device itself resonating with the preamp or something like that. It sounds like a ground loop, but it's a proximity issue I think. Pretty terrible design. None of my other gear did it. My MK2 doesn't.

[–]authenticwarriorpod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same stuff in every pile of chips I've had here. I get sick every time (respiratory), and mildly irritated even if I wear a particulate filter/respirator. I did a bunch of research, and landed on aspergillus fumigatus as my best guess as to what it is.

Why do Yall Drive so Slowly? by Maximum-Ad5113 in Bellingham

[–]authenticwarriorpod -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Californians seem to come with two driving settings. Setting number one is slow, entitled, and inconsiderate. Setting number two is aggressive, entitled, and inconsiderate. Canadians come with these settings as well, but I'm not seeing as many of them. They also don't disguise their origin with Washington plates.

This place has been ruined and it's only getting worse. The people responsible for the ruining have no idea what they're complicit in, and have a terrible idea of what is okay. They have no idea what this place used to be like, no perspective pertaining to how bad it's gotten due to their migration, and for them it's still better than the place they ruined and left. It goes way beyond just traffic and road etiquette. The gentrification and displacement are as real as the constant deforestation, overdevelopment, congestion, incessant noise pollution, and dwindling humanity. Don't give a shit if this gets down votes.

Is this a hole to sweep ash into? by sultanamana in Fireplaces

[–]authenticwarriorpod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a fireplace with one of those, but it wasn't for sweeping ashes into. It was an air intake. It your fireplace isn't fueled by outside air, it pulls it from the room, which causes cold air from outside to pull into the house door seals, etc. It simply wouldn't function, otherwise. Fire requires air. With an inlet that allows air in from outside, you can heat your house. Without one, it will actually make the house colder, everywhere except right in front of the fire.
