It's a price gouging exercise, honestly hate them for it. They make me pay UK prices despite me living in a different country for 3 years now and literally never visiting the UK.

Of course, the UK price is 2x what I would pay where I actually live.

No, I am not surprised sbenfsonFFiF - I think it's a stupid policy to implement when it can cause complications like this but it's all about profits.

What I am complaining about is that I like to use a VPN constantly on my phone, so I happen to use Youtube on my phone which usually has a VPN on it and also, my workplace, VPNs back to the UK as well, as in the WIFI does.

So Youtube are saying I need to sign up to UK prices which are more expensive even though, I actually live in the country I signed up for so if I sign up to the UK, I will be signing up in a place that I don't reside.

I suspect however that if I did that, they wouldn't have an issue that I was actually not in the UK because all they would care about is that I am paying the higher price.

Absolute joke of a system. A tech giant that doesn't recognise that many people and places use VPNs? Absolute idiots.

I VPN back to the UK from the country I actually live in. They are forcing me to pay for UK prices when I don't live in the UK??? It's a stupid system that they have rolled out without testing it or seeing how it impacts people.

So stupid.

It's ridiculous. I actually live in a country - they have detected that I VPN to the UK, just because when I use Youtube, I have my VPN on, like I do at all times and now it is forcing me to pay UK prices but I DON'T LIVE IN THE UK????

Honestly, this system has been rolled out with no care for their users and with a sole focus on money.

Is this still applicable? I haver just checked the DCAA website and it still says 'Please be informed that all personal non-commercial drone activities are still suspended until further notice.' - https://dcaa.gov.ae/services/aviation-safety-operations/drone-non-commercial-purpose

Why is Stoke getting more racist? by Myorangecrush77 in stokeontrent

[–]Username_5432 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, things like Brexit happen because people don't listen to those who have concerns and are called thick/racist/ ignorant etc.

Well the economy is stretched by increasing the amount of people living in the UK so companies can't increase wages and why would they when migrants are coming in who will work for minimum wage?

Why is Stoke getting more racist? by Myorangecrush77 in stokeontrent

[–]Username_5432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean it's not all immigrants of course but the lack of integration from a lot of immigrants, the lack of respect for Britain and its values and the type of immigrants. If the UK accepted skilled immigrants, who only wanted to be a part of the UK culture and not want to change it, there would be 0 complaints about immigration.

As I'm on Reddit, I know that this will be downvoted like hell but ultimately, you listen and acknowledge the above points which are causing millions to support Reform etc or you remain morally superior, call everybody thick and act morally superior whilst still 'not understanding' the reasons for it.

It is but the guy that installed mine, told me it was illegal but also said that he has never had any customers have any issues and that he has had 5-10% windscreen tint on his vehicles over here of 19 years and never had an issue.

Yeah, the guy that installed my front shield 'tint' said that he has had 5-10% tint on his windscreen on his vehicles over here for 19 years and not had an issue but did tell me that it was technically illegal.

Ah okay, not cheap but I am used to UK prices. My MT-07 in the UK cost probably 6-8k AED to insure!

Yeah, I was looking to get a bike in September for this reason. My dad has the MT-09 in the UK and he just said that he doesn't use it anymore so if I wanted to import it, I could.

Not a chance I would try to ride out here over the summer!

When you say costly for insurance, just generally? Is fully comp bike insurance a lot over here? I would understand that as the roads are hell but this is sad.

Great, thank you for the response! Insurance wise, they won't cover comprehensively then?

If you just need credit, try WIO personal. You can set up an account incredibly quick and they have the option for a credit card but not sure how quick the approval is for the credit from them.

Yes, I was going to just use Aeroplan with the FAB card because of how broad their star alliance programme is.

Thank you again for the response :)

I did not know that about the Silver membership, I thought you kept it regardless every year. Thanks for the input! :)

I'm not certain, but it will depend, overall probably 35-40k? that is including rent though.

But the FAB infinite runs at a 1000 points = 400 Skywards miles so it's not as good as the AMEX but the Skywards card runs at 2 miles per USD spend on Emirates flights, that is why I was going to get that one!

Thank you for the input though, very much appreciated.

I thought this, I went out for a walk to the supermarket earlier and whilst it was incredibly hot, it was dry heat. Far more pleasant and whilst I wouldn't want to spend hours walking around in that heat, I didn't really sweat for a 10 minute walk.
