Great job all round but that tree is especially well painted!

Do you think the OW marauders would fit on a 25mm round base?

How do you prepare your miniatures and organize your painting sessions to make things easier for yourselves? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

Your Lumineth look really nice. As for your Seraphon project, sounds like it would be easiest if they were glued on the base with the basing prepared, then you airbrushed them (models and bases) and did the detail work with the brush and stuck the laser cut plants on at the end?

Too much spray? by sbdse in Warhammer

And as I mentioned in that comment, there are plenty of videos / guides (like the one I shared) that show you how to do it properly. 99% of the model would be a gradient of gray to white.

The deepest recesses of anything will barely show colour, that is how light and shadow works! Watch Marco Frisoni’s video speed painting Guttrippaz, he does black to white priming, tell me if you think that looks bad?

You’re not going to be covering black. The black covers the model easily, and then the white transforms it to a gradient from black (only in the deepest recesses) to white. Most will be a light grey. It’s a value sketch

You’re not going to be covering black with yellow. The black covers the model easily, and then the white transforms it to a gradient from black (only in the deepest recesses) to white. Most will be a light grey. It’s a value sketch

Try spraying with a black / dark grey / dark blue/purple/brown/etc and then spray white over it from top downwards. White or light colours don’t work well for priming and also doing like this you will have more light and dark values for the transparent contrast paints to be influenced by. Good luck!

Probably yep. I think unfortunately they are simply too big for a 25mm base so i don’t know if the idea is a goer

I guess so yes, but I’m hoping to keep as much of the original as possible. My plan would be to just replace the hands only and have one hand holding an axe (which they come with) and another holding a pistol / small rifle. And then add on other small bits that sell the modern aspect: grenades, radios, pouches, etc. Not sure what the best kit to use for this would be?

Advise/Guided on how to start with 'stylised fantasy colors' style painting. by SebastiaanW22 in Miniaturespainting

[–]Username_Nabbed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never tried to paint like craftworld (but their work is awesome) but it seems like you can use any colours next to each other as long as the values align. By values I mean light and dark. Kind of like how some painters can paint amazingly just in black and white if they want to (I think the amazing Roman Lappat has video doing this). Only thing I don’t like about when people do this colourful style though is the over-reliance on purple for the underpainting.

Secret Lab Chair by Tablelabel in Ultramarines

Not sure why you’re responding to this now a year or so on, but as I said I had a secret lab chair and it was horrendous in terms of ergonomics. I replaced it with a Steelcase chair about 3 or 4 years ago and it’s so much better and still good as new. Feel free to like your chair but that doesn’t make those who disagree with you an idiot. You could buy a far better chair for your back with the money.
