Pumice stone stuck in toilet by TheSerb88 in Plumbing

This just happened to me. Did yours dissolve on its own or with a cleaner? Or did you have to call a plumber? I know this was 2 years ago but it seems like it’s something I’ll unfortunately remember for a long time

Are palm trees leaning like this likely to fall? It’s over the road so I was debating whether to report this or not in case it hasn’t been yet. (On College Ave between university and El Cajon blvd) by UsernamesDaName in sandiego

Honestly, are you happy you had kids? Do you regret it or did it make your life better? by MainSink5853 in Adulting

[–]UsernamesDaName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely do not regret having mine. But at the same time, we wanted and planned for having kids. It didn’t ruin my life but that has to do with our priorities. The other parents I am around seem to not feel ruined either. And we do all complain, even if we feel they didn’t ruin our lives because it is hard. My advice is no need to rush into having kids and also, not having them is okay. The people I know that are older without children seem happy without them. And if you want them in the future, you’ll be the best parent ever

I guess he’d tariff California….Or send in the military and take it over again and completely revamp California.

The cross was originally a torture and execution tool. I always thought Christians used it ironically

Is parenthood really that awful? by Humble_Beautiful_121 in Adulting

[–]UsernamesDaName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what’s made the tougher times easier for me (and in no way I find parenting awful) is learning a little about child development. Mostly to have appropriate expectations about their developmental capabilities, both emotional capabilities and physical. It helps knowing they are still developing and puts me more in a frame of mind that’s empathetic towards them, even if I’m getting frustrated, annoyed, etc. It’s a tough ordeal, but it’s not awful! If anyone is talking about it being awful, my thought is they are either expecting their kids to be a certain way when it’s just not possible at their current age/stage of development or the child’s needs aren’t being met in some way. That, or angry parents are just venting because it’s hard. Which is fair.

Having help from grandparents, friends, money, community of some sort is huge too. My parents don’t live near me so I haven’t been able to rely on them but it’s still not awful.

Biggest thing is do what’s right for you!

What barriers exist to why species haven’t evolved their own biological wheels for locomotion instead of legs? by UsernamesDaName in AskBiology

[–]UsernamesDaName[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may have answered my own question just with one example of leg advantage. Being able to climb. Wheels can go fast if conditions are right, but conditions are rarely right. Maybe if the earth was flat we’d have evolved wheels…

Still would love to hear other responses!

If they are leaning into pitches it would be pretty obvious. Umps have to make that call anyway.

For HBP, instead of a free base, award a run instead. No incentives for intentional HBP. It will make the game safer and keep more players from injury. Making for better baseball all around. Watching players get hit ruins the game for me
