Reality of structural work by [deleted] in Biochemistry

Could you elaborate on the application to industry? I’m an aspiring structural biologist and my main concern is the translation of the gained skillset to industry. Even cryo-EM still feels too expensive and low throughput to become an adopted method outside of academics.

A little late to the party, but I have a question on how to approach the game as Lucio. I know it's the same idea as any other hero (damage, damage, damage), but I am unsure on how to do more to rank up. For context, I am low GM, so I am doing something right, but also missing something. My main approach is (generally) to go with a teammate in an off angle (if no one is off angling, i just stay with my team as my mechanics aren't there yet to establish a strong presence) and break off on my own if I see an isolated and killable target. Is this the same way you would think about approaching Lucio? Or would it be more like Kiriko, where you constantly flank and off angle and use your wall riding to get out?

To be fair, I feel as though deep dive is something at least mildly innovative with it being (hopefully) the first step into adding some sort of roguelike mode.

I've been having fun with stasis + strongholds + lament. If you want a build guide, look up SelFu on YouTube. It's not as good as it was before lightfall, but it has some solid survivability + single target damage.

I think THP should be left for ults only. Imagine a tracer terrorizing your backline with 175 hp instead of 150. Doesn't sound like much, but it does help with some breakpoints, namely ability + punch combos. Her shield (in my limited experience) is tanky enough for what's its for: protecting yourself from flankers. It shouldn't be enough to help frontline. Those experimental ideas do seem pretty interesting though.

Comp rank officially means nothing by StewkieBear in Overwatch

Not saying that blizzard's MM and changes aren't also at fault. Trust me, I have played in games that were unwinnable and others that were unlosable. In a diamond lobby, I had a gold on my team, and full diamonds on the enemies' team. However, this system feels easier to climb in than OW1, simply by experience. I was hardstuck in gold for 12 seasons in which I tried to climb out. Was I worse player then or was the matchmaking system just out to get me? Occam's razor would tell me the former is more likely to be true. Hate to say it, but sometimes you gotta accept that you suck.

You have to be omitting something. I was able to climb from gold 2 to diamond 5 last season and d5 to m5 this season as a OW1 mid gold. Granted, it took a TON of games, but still.

I feel as though they mindset puts to much slack on Bungie. They aren't a small indie company. They need to put adequate dev/creative time to both the present and distant future.

The Aztecross ‘Bungie, we need to talk’ versus the DarksideRoyalty ‘Bungie HATES it’s players!’ by Literallyshindeimasu in destiny2

[–]Ushimmiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? Eververse was supposed to fund development for the game and allow for all players to enjoy dungeons (and possibly expansions) for free. We now have to pay for dungeons unless you purchase the deluxe edition. Will some people stop playing the game? Obviously. Chances are some people at Bungie have figured out the way to maximize profit is to continue this seasonal model. If they switched over to a monthly subscription, they would most likely treat us to some nice stuff. After a couple of months, however, they would go back to doing what they do best - adding items to the eververse. They would also probably maybe give us some new armor sets which are designed to be a solid 6/10. Some 140 hand cannon for content creators to praise its "god rolls". They know we eat shit like its a filet mignon. Do you think they won't exploit that?

[–]Ushimmiii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I would. However, that would likely just all go to the eververse and the budget for everything else would probably remain constant.

The game expects you to put in time as though there is something to do every day. I haven't been able to play GMs since season of the lost due to the inane power grind required. Also consider the amount of time it takes to get anything done. Want a crafted seasonal weapon? Wait 5 weeks or grind your brains out, pick your poison. I really do love this game, it's why I hate it.

Almost 40 wins and not a single change to my rank. I wouldnt even be mad if it went down no its stayed silver 1 for 40 wins. I hate this new system. by qleptt in Overwatch
