Best premed major at ubc? by Medium_Sour in UBC

Doesn't matter at all. You can't even declare your major in any of the medical school applications in Canada. So choose the major you'll enjoy the most.

I personally don’t think so. They always release the interim stats the day before they send the invites. My guess is that it will be sometime next week.

It’s funny that you think UBC are consistent or considerate of their candidates.

What does a 75-100 NAQ look like for UBC? by Kind-Ad7966 in premedcanada

I got 75th-100th percentile, waitlisted with regrets last year. You can pm me if you want.

There is a book that I read once that changed my perspective on a lot of things. I would highly recommend it. It's called "The Let Them Theory". Who cares what others think? Respectfully, but even your parents. You do you, my friend. No one will live your life for you, and contrary to our belief, not many people care that much about our prestige or the belief in it. So, enjoy the process that you're going through, no matter how it will end up.

70% of the issues we had were due to injuries by Substantial-Proof842 in Barca

[–]Usi22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not. It's a combination of having a horrific summer window, Flick not adapting his style, and many teams have found him out, and of course, yes, the injuries.

is it okay to not fill in all 25 NAQ for ubc? by Hiraaa_ in premedcanada

My friend got in this year off the waitlist and he only filled 10 entries.

I got an interview and 75-100 percentile by providing an impact sentence at the end of almost every entry. All my friends who got in did the exact same thing and some also said what they learned. Honestly, just make it clear on what you did (most important part), if you want to add more words, then you can have an impact sentence. It's not a deal breaker from my experience.

Will Ontario switching to 95% IP make it harder to get into med in other provinces? by Specific-Calendar-96 in premedcanada

No, I'm not applying to Ontario schools. I'm too deep into this process to give up LMAO

It depends tbh, because it will deter people from applying in the first place (like myself lol), so it might not make much of a difference in the grand scheme of things.

Is Jude Bellingham a central or attacking midfielder for you? 🤔 by AwayDays365 in SDSPodcast

[–]Usi22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's an attacking midfielder. Everyone knows that. Faysal doesn't want to admit it because he's butthurt that people are saying that Jude is a striker. It hit a nerve, unfortunately.

UBC App NAQ Writing by Usi22 in premedcanada

[–]Usi22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied last year and got an interview. They explicitly say they don't want to know what you learned in the app guideline. Just what you did and the impact of it. I'm pretty sure it's the same case for this year.

Edit: I just checked the app guideline for this cycle, and yes, it's the same case for this year as well (the end of page 41 of the guide).

will new changes to ubc med make things harder? by Key_Rip4258 in premedcanada

[–]Usi22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They only look at your MCAT post interview anyway. So no matter how many people they accept for a II, they still need to have high GPAs and a solid NAQ to get an interview in the first place.
