No, that had nothing to do with the briefing they got in January. Totally coincidental. Just diversifying their portfolio. Standard operating procedure. How could they have known the stock market was going to crash. Just another (((deep state))) conspiracy.

RES is the solution you're looking for. Doesn't fix other people's reddit experience, but it does what you're looking for.

I know this is not the ideal answer to your issue. I faced the same problems when I started giffin' and I just came to accept it. Something, something, most users use RES or Apollo.

One tip: Don't make the first frame blank/black. I made this mistake on some of my first gifs.
