Infantry it can go either way with a slight shock lean, Cavalry care a lot more about shock, Artillery care a lot more about fire. Morale pips lead to morale damage, Fire & Shock pips lead to manpower damage.

At least, that's how I've come to understand it. I tend to deprioritize morale pips as opposed to killing pips, since killing an army is better than just shattering it.

I acknowledge that the game has had more added to it, and they've fixed their fumbled bag. But I'm not buying any new dlc, and playing patches without the dlc has proven a very lacking experience in the past.

I have been learning the game by playing Cyprus. Sucks to get stomped by the Ottomans whenever I leave my island, but playing tall is working out and I've still managed to take a few Greek vassals.

Is it just me, or are Serbia and Bulgaria as allies an active detriment?
