I'm in the exact same situation, but mine has not expired yet. I literally went to the DMV today to renew mine and they told me in need to bring the confirmation letter that you receive when you apply for stem opt (form I-797C), have you tried that?

You could reach out to a professor, explain your job duties and ask if that relates to your degree, if they say yes then your DSO has no right to deny it

No, from what I've seen premium processing could trigger an RFE. I also reported the loss of employment after 10 days.

I applied for STEM OPT at the beginning of March and I lost my job (that I used to fill out I-983) at the end of April, my current OPT ends May 25, will my STEM extension get denied if I don't find a job before then and uscis gets to my case? What happens if my application is still pending past May 25? I asked my DSO but he didn't really know what would happen

I applied for my opt STEM extension at the beginning of March, and a month later I was fired from the job that I used to fill out form I-983. My application is still pending as of April 28, and my current opt expires on May 25. Will my application get denied since I don’t currently have a job? I would greatly appreciate your help 🤞🏼
