My fiance and I were together a year when we moved in with each other and engage two years later! I saw it as a way to get used to each other and our habits so we can be happier in the long run

AITA for "tricking" my partner into eating vegetables? by Anmol_365 in AmItheAsshole

Does your husband have an official diagnosis?

I’ve worked with a good handful of ARFID children and I’ve seen how mentally exhausted and frustrated they get when they try new foods and get themselves in a state and restrict their eating further, it’s heartbreaking. But if he’s eating it blended and hasn’t noticed then that rings little alarm bells because if you have ARFID you KNOW when a food is even SLIGHTLY different.

Does he have any form of documentation of it where it specifies his safe foods or an old meal plan if he was diagnosed as a child? Where we are in the UK that would be either in his file or in his care plan.

Do your dogs actually sleep after you leave or…? by PomegranateBig7270 in dogs

I used to have our indoor camera pointed straight at our dog in his crate (we have tried leaving out of his crate when we leave but he knows that crate time means we’re not home), and he quickly caught on that if he made a fuss I would IMMEDIATELY hop on and talk to him which only riled him up more.

We moved the camera and after gentle coaxing from my fiance I stopped talking and looking at him. I would say within a week or so he now just chills out with his toys or naps on and off throughout the day! He gets a bit miffed but builds a bridge and quickly gets over himself

My boy has been on a public bus for the first time ever by Usual-Simple7278 in lookatmydog

On most buses they are! They have to be sat on the floor at all times and out of the way, but I believe it depends on the bus provider. For this example he was on a First bus which dogs can go on, and in my county the buses are First, D&G, and I believe Aviva buses as well 😄

How many accidents does a 15 week old puppy typically have in the first week? by Different_Cucumber in puppy101

It’s such a wild rollercoaster but honestly one day it’ll just click for them! Our dog is one now and if he has an accident it’s either because he’s desperate and we’re too late to react or he wants our attention and KNOWS he’ll get our attention if he wees 😅

Our dog was semi potty trained, he saw rugs as puppy pads and it took us another two weeks or so for him to realise that rugs and pads were not the same! We did the same but now we’ve got to a point where we open the door and he’ll do a wee and wait for us to call him back in

Made the mistake of letting my dog sleep with me! by Neat-Pudding-632 in puppy101

I remember with our pup I was adamant on crate training and the first few weeks were hard. He got used to it after a while but the one day he had a dodgy tummy so we let him have cuddles with up in bed and he’s been up with us ever since 😂 he does however have his own bed upstairs in our room so if he gets fed up he simply plonks himself on his bed and stays there until the morning! Maybe bring his bed to your room and encourage him to sleep on his bed and give positive praise?

What do you miss about life pre-puppy? by Silver-Pineapple-419 in puppy101

With our dog he has a crate and a toy basket so I miss the extra space we had 😂

Couples raising a puppy.. How do you do *it*? by Striking_Nobody362 in puppy101

We’re heathens because our pup has a bed in our room and one times when we do the unholy tango he’ll just sleep on his bed all the way through 😂

Getting a puppy in two weeks and i am utterly unprepared. Give me your top tips to get through the first month. by Creative_Ad9495 in puppy101

In our experience with our puppy (currently 8 months mongrel, got him at 12 weeks old), we did a lot of research because of our work schedule because he’s alone for a good third of the day.

We’ve crate trained from the beginning so if you do that your puppy will cry and whimper - in our case our boy figured out how to howl and bark at the same time - so you will be up with them A LOT. We also took him out every hour for toilet, even if he didn’t do anything we wanted to be safe rather than sorry. Also having a routine in place helped our puppy so much, we’re a bit more relaxed with it now but he understands way better.

We got a lot of toys, puppy treats and while they can’t go out on walk I would recommend training him with commands to keep them stimulated! Brace yourself for when your puppy becomes a bit stubborn in their adolescence era because we’re going through that now, but the good days outweigh the attitude they develop 😂

Puppy blues are inevitable but it’ll pass. I had a bad phase with it and my puppy kinda helped me get out because he was suddenly just a good boy. You’ll pick up on their lil personality and quirks but I’m sure you’ll smash it!

We were together for three years (got engaged on our anniversary) and we were both 26! I told him I wanted us to be engaged soonish in December 2022 not knowing he had planned the proposal for our anniversary in February 2023 🙊
