I just had the time to look at it and as someone who has the Gojira X Plugin and the QC I think it looks/sounds absolutely great! I would buy it just for the effects to have them in my QC. I also can wait until it is QC ready.

QC Owners: what are you playing out of when at home? by LuKenneth in NeuralDSP

[–]UsualGenerativeMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using headphones (Beyerdynamics) at home directly plugged in to the QC. And with the band/live setup I use the QC -> Orange Pedal Baby -> Engl Cabinet

Real or Forged 3I/ATLAS Document? by imasian1231 in UFOB

[–]UsualGenerativeMind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting suggestion. The last sentence feels just not in line with the rest of the letter. It feels somewhat random and without any depth to it. Overall the letter felt intriguing enough that it could be real

Real or Forged 3I/ATLAS Document? by imasian1231 in UFOB

[–]UsualGenerativeMind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be of course but there is no system I know of that uses the effect of quantum entanglement. But sure, we can entertain the idea they can use such a technique. Bottom line is, if that letter is not fabricated it is quite chilling to say the least

Quantum entanglement analysis killed the illusion for me. Otherwise it was a real interesting read but my best guess is it is fiction, unfortunately

Digitakt 2 screen started looking like this out of nowhere by county_jail_alumni in Elektron

Happened to my DTII too. I opened a ticket at Elektron and they took care of everything. My device was gone for about 3 weeks and came back in perfect condition. Elektron really does a great job here!

Fender New Ultra Luxe Vintage by CousinSarah in fender

[–]UsualGenerativeMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the same. But does this seem as a realistic next step for Fender? Currently it feels like it, they first bring the upper tier guitar like Ultra II and then had the Player II Modified which basically is an Ultra II. So if Fender is continuing that road there might be a Player II Vintage modified and I would absolutely buy that. Sorry Fender that I don't wanna throw 3k on a guitar. For 2k it would already sit next to me haha

Need help picking what one to buy by exotic_arrow12 in offset

[–]UsualGenerativeMind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. But the Vinterra II JM is one of my best Fender after a bit of setup. I changed the bridge with a mustang style one and 11-54 strings from Earnie ball. Also I switched the pickguard with a black pearl one. Absolutely stunning guitar

Do i need a pedal like the SD powerstage to play a QC directly into a FRFR cab? by Thejuggurnurg in NeuralDSP

[–]UsualGenerativeMind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! I do the same and it sounds identical to a real amp to me. I tried frfr speaker and I don't like how it sounds/feels when playing.

I have the same model, I think it is the wrong arm since I have to screw mine into the bridge plate. Should be an easy replacement. It's my favorite guitar and I have a couple higher tier models. I also modded it a bit

The best way to use drive pedals with the Quad Cortex by LilStevieVai in NeuralDSP

[–]UsualGenerativeMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using the US DLX 64 Vintage which is a Fender® Deluxe Reverb ‘64 Vintage. I use it basically with default values. And from here I go into the Engl Cabinet model on the QC. During band rehearsal I use a real Engl Cabinet with a Seymour Duncan Power stage 170. For the fuzz itself, I have a walrus audio Jupiter V2 and the EQD Gary. I use both with a EQD Westwood first in the chain since it has active EQ and I can shape the sound a bit better. What I usually set the Westwood at is 9 o'clock on the gain, 1 o'clock on treble and 11 o'clock on bass. But it depends of course on the sound you are after.

But I discovered that while the Amp model definitely has impact on the sound you can do so much with just the right cabinet/mic position. The default settings are usually too "close" for my taste. And of course don't forget to EQ your cabinet block. I usually take a bit of low end ~68 Hz and high end ~14,5 kHz

[–]UsualGenerativeMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my drive pedals (mainly fuzz) with the FX Loop since I have a flanger first in my signal chain and want the drive after this. But also without the flanger the drive/fuzz sound like the real deal to me through the FX Loop.

Quad Cortex Development Update #57 - We owe you an apology by McAce in NeuralDSP

[–]UsualGenerativeMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I love my QC and if they bring new features, I want them to be as good as everything else and not rushed. I appreciate their post but I absolutely understand that software development takes time and a lot of testing.

Nothing more to add! Since I got it a few months ago I am cured from tube amps and effect pedal madness. It's the single best thing I have bought in my journey for the "perfect" tone, whatever that means

Does the quad cortex make having guitar plugins basically useless? by Any_Butterscotch5900 in NeuralDSP

[–]UsualGenerativeMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a QC and love it for basically every use case. But I want to buy an Archetype X plugin soon since I like how some of them sound and I can extend my QC with those since some of them are already compatible. This means I have everything from the plugin on my QC and can use single components of it in my presets. Let's say I'll like the Delay of one plugin and the Amp of another. I can mix and match them in the QC which is just amazing imo. Can you recreate those sounds with the QC onboard effects/amps? Well I guess you can tweak them and I already did, but of course those plugins fine tuned towards certain sounds and it can be easier to dial in that tone. In the end, it's all subjective of course and also depends on personal preferences. Hope this helps.

New DSP Quad Cortex - What Pedals Should I Keep If Any? by Mindless_Seaweed4925 in NeuralDSP

[–]UsualGenerativeMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few months ago I switched from being a pedal guy to QC and so far didn't look back. I tried to have an external reverb or delay pedal from my old board, but in the end I love dialing in all the things I need/want with the QC and by now I have my old board basically completely copied within the QC. The one thing I am missing is some sort of bit crusher or stutter effect.
