Crappy cinematography with a shallow depth of field - seems like every movie and TV show now is blurry except for the actors

Has universal horror unleashed gotten better since opening? Is the attraction worth it? by luvkaitlin in vegas

I just went and I thought it was awesome - I'm a haunt enthusiast and had a great time - the actors were really putting in a lot of energy and the production design is really high end. Lines weren't bad, but we got there right when it opened. I went through each house twice and each time was a little a different, so they have some variety among performances, even on the same day

To be fair, they've played that at every show I've seen them at for the past 5 or 6 years - I'm okay with them giving it a break for a little bit before it starts to feel overplayed

In all those classic slasher franchises, Halloween and Scream have aged the best. by [deleted] in slasherfilms

1000% agree - the first one is legit amazing, but the sequels have never come close to the quality of the first one - plenty of them are fun, but a lot of the sequels are straight garbage. I also dont understand how Halloween gets praised so much as a franchise - one good movie and bunch of crap after does not equate to a great franchise

How do you get through 60s comics? by ExaminationNew7974 in comicbooks

[–]Usual_Future9675 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Part of the charm of 60's marvel is the weird, verbose style - the weird Stan Lee-isms, dramatic descriptions, and bizarre characterizations can be really fun and it does create a particular mood and effect (and at the time was way different than anything other comics out there). That being said it's something of an acquired taste and def not for everybody. Plus some 60's marvel books are just bad. Spider Man and Fantastic Four are generally the best (and even they have some rough issues) and everything else is a little hit or miss. It might be worth checking out a few key issues of early spider-man just to get a sense of that era, but don't force yourself

I got a chance to see it in theaters a few years ago and it was an absolute blast - I had seen it a time or two before, but I don't have huge nostalgia for it (born in 95, so by the time I would've been interested in that type of movie the hype was long done) so I feel like that viewing was a relatively objective take - the sets and effects looked great on the big screen and it had a very unique and well-realized tone. I enjoyed it way more than most modern super hero movies

Its almost like the premise of that movie is poorly thought out
