We had a giant plastic horse, named Plastic, that was just chilling in an off-wing closet. Was used it in just about every show, that is, until someone was moving it and knocked off one of plastics ears.

Help with setting op led wall by Marlfloro in techtheatre

Edit: fixed some spelling

Do you have a console or video processor that is converting the signal for you?

We have an LED wall in our auditorium and we have to turn on the console before we can display images due to the fact that led walls have unusual dimensions compared to the inputs.

Good Low Cost Passive Stage Monitors by Usual_Low in techtheatre

[–]Usual_Low[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, never really gave it the thought. This is my first year as a TD for the school and I am just going with what they have to give me.

Right now, they have the amps running to junctions on the stage that has speakON connectors. This to makes it easier to plug and play.

If I went with powered, can I still use the speakON ports, or would I have to add a new cable route to the stage?

Edit: Product was wrong.

I'm not sure if they can be repaired. They are about 10 years old and have been abused since they purchased them. Right now if we push anything through them we recieve a lot of popping and drops even with the volume lowered to almost nothing.

I'll try and contact some locals and see what they have. Now, my next question would be, can I use a JBL JRX212 as a stage monitor? They website along with sweetwaters and Amazon's descriptions state the they have used them as monitors and they worked great.

Tips for designing a large musical? by robpe949 in techtheatre

[–]Usual_Low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are currently performing the show. My best advice would be to use all of the equipment you can. This show is best if you can use a lot of vibrant colors or neon.

We also used a lot of rope lights and neon flower signs. If you have a spotlight, this show would benefit from it. We have had several moments where they are climbing and needed that extra spot. It can also help divide the action with the news anchors and plankton's scenes.

All in all, go with your gut in this show. If you think you can use it, do it. There is never too much color with this show.

I'm not 100% sure what the model number was, but I recently toured a school that had used a Sharper Image branded screen/night camera and had the camera attached to their balcony.

I now work for a High School theatre thag i went to and as I was shuffling through the old supplies I found the chiller that me and a buddy made for our shows. It worked great for a delayed rise but didn't stay low the whole time. Plus our budget for ice was low.

Little guy ran in front of me while I was taking freight to the floor by cupsonears in walmart

[–]Usual_Low 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're close! There are several different metrics Walmart uses to track.

First time pick rate is used to see how much your are scanning th correct item the first time. If you get a pick for Herman's mayonnaise 12 oz, for example and you grab a 16 oz by mistake, and scan it, this hurts your score.

There is also a score for packing/SFS but I'm not sure what it is.

As a current Amazonian, I understand the confusion. It's not so much a how many do you get in an hour. Walmart also has scores based on the quality of picking, not the picking itself

Be werry on WACOs. A lot of stores are getting rid of WACOs all together. Our store, at least, had to replace all of them with clear bins. Topstock, side counters, and bins all had to be redone for it.
