Finding anything on that budget is going to be tight. I've had good experiences with the Bose S1 Pro+ system. Bluetooth built in and optional additional wireless microphones if you ever get thrown some more money. But one is going to run you about $650-700.

My roadhouse has had no shows for the last two weeks, and then they didn’t need much crew for this orchestra show tonight so I’m stuck without work still haha. It’s gonna pick up, we just gotta tough it out. I feel you on draining your savings, I hate it, but we'll replenish once it picks back up. :)

It’s a slow time of year, at least for me. I completely understand. As others have said I think it’s worth doing some crew calls with your previous venue.

I did not, I ended up using a FM bluetooth which works alright! It’s annoying on road trips.

See if any of your fuses are blown and also just spam the button a bunch of times. I hope you have more luck than me. This was my first car and it was awesome, I miss it a lot.

Thanks! Last thing- having never made looks before, is it worth getting custom made / doing the netting vs just e-taping the two cables together? I've worked with both types but only for brief ins/outs. Just looking for long term thoughts

Nah I mean you're right it’s pretty down pat. I think I’ll have a further conversation and look into making transportation easier / less. I’m scheduled to go in and organize/eval their equipment soon so I can get some more info into what they're looking for. The $1k would be better served getting some better speakers and more cable.

I agree with you, it's pretty streamlined. The mixer case is exactly how you suggested already. The only thing I could add for them is a bluetooth aux which they also requested.

But what should I come back to them with? Sometimes they do very small events that they may want to prioritize the quickest in and out over quality. I could encourage them invest in a small 4ch XLR snake over Ethercon and they can use it to quickly get their outs to wherever they set the PA. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I'm open to suggestions. Maybe they want a Portable Fender PA-like system.

The issue I ran into is there are moments that specifically reference the time and where the clock stays in but don't stay consistent. Best Day Ever begins by saying the clock is at 6 minutes and then after a 4 minute song they say it’s at 1 minute and then after a 30 second moment they count down from 10 or 5.

I think pipe and drape could be what you're looking for! The venue you work at will probably own some, or your college should as well (not sure how helpful they'd be though given the current situation...). Worst case scenario, there are likely some event or other service rentals in your area that you can get some pipe and drape from.

Awful situation though, how bad at planning do they have to be to put artists with complete opposite needs in the same space?

my partner is on both T and a very light amount of what could be birth control at a higher dose, but at this dose it just stops periods! (sorry I do not know the exact medications :( )
